The new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (2026) does not try to overcomplicate the formula. Instead, it focuses on what gamers actually care about: smoother gameplay, faster responsiveness and enough power to handle both work and play without feeling like a compromise. My unit came equipped with a GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, 32GB DDR5 6400MHz RAM and a 1TB SSD, paired with a superb 16-inch OLED WQXGA 165Hz display. On paper, that already sounds promising. In actual use, it feels even better.
The first thing that stood out to me was NVIDIA DLSS 4. If you are not deep into GPU jargon, the simple explanation is this: it uses AI to boost frame rates while keeping visuals looking sharp. With Multi Frame Generation, DLSS 4 goes a step further by creating additional frames, helping gameplay feel noticeably smoother. In Resident Evil: Requiem, that made a real difference. The game leans heavily on atmosphere, lighting and detailed environments, and the Helios Neo 16S AI handled those darker, more demanding scenes impressively well. Frame rates stayed stable, textures remained crisp, and the sense of immersion was never broken. Ray tracing also added a richer sense of mood, with lighting and shadows giving the environments more depth and realism.

Switching to Valorant, the focus changed from atmosphere to speed. Here, the GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU and 165Hz OLED panel worked beautifully together. Gameplay felt smooth, responsive and tightly controlled, especially during fast flicks and sudden engagements. NVIDIA Reflex also helped reduce input lag, and that extra responsiveness was easy to feel in competitive moments.
Beyond gaming, the Helios Neo 16S AI also proved itself as a genuinely capable all-rounder. The Intel Core Ultra 9 386H and 32GB RAM kept everything moving smoothly, even with background apps running and light content work happening between sessions. NVIDIA Studio also brought clear benefits on the productivity side, helping video editing, rendering and AI-assisted workflows feel quicker and more responsive.
The display deserves special mention too. With its OLED panel, 2560 x 1600 resolution and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, the laptop looks fantastic whether you are gaming, editing or streaming. Deep contrast gives darker scenes more punch, while the high refresh rate keeps motion looking fluid and clean.

What makes the Helios Neo 16S AI even more appealing is that it does all this in a chassis that feels far more portable than you would expect.
At under 2kg and under 20mm thick, it does not feel like a bulky desktop replacement. It is slim enough to carry daily, yet powerful enough to handle demanding AAA games and creative workloads with confidence.

Overall, the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (2026) strikes a very convincing balance. It is a gaming laptop first, but not at the expense of versatility. With NVIDIA DLSS 4 making a real, visible difference and a sleek design that is easier to live with than most machines in its class, it feels like a smart step forward.
