If you’ve kept up to date with my adventures in Seoul, you’ll know that I had the pleasure of visiting both historical and traditional sites with the Canon EOS 200D II. In this second part of our journey together, I’ll be showing you what it’s like to explore the streets of modern Seoul and its various exciting attractions with my handy little travel companion!
A Feast for the Eyes
With the Canon EOS 200D II hanging by a strap around my neck, I headed to Gangchon Rail Park where I was lucky enough to experience an exciting bike ride aboard old train tracks, which allowed me to admire the beautiful countryside of Gangwon-do. It’s vibrant splendour was beautifully captured by the EOS 200D II. On this ride, we got to cycle through beautiful tunnels filled with everything from fairy lights to bubbles that we could reach out to pop!
Another destination on my to-visit list was Everland, Seoul’s famous amusement park filled with thrilling rides. My favourite shot of the day was of an adorable little girl sitting atop the carousel, waving to her parents. In the evening, I visited the Myeongdong Night Market, where I got to taste various street delicacies such as Hotteok, a sweet sticky pancake, and egg bread! The lightness of the DSLR made it easy to juggle between wolfing down almost everything in sight and documenting my surroundings.
Worth It? You Bet!
In my previous post, I mentioned that the idea of shooting with a DSLR can be pretty intimidating not only because of its perceived complexity to beginners like me, but also what I originally assumed to be a very, very hefty price tag. After all, a high price may not scream ‘value’ to someone who has little experience handling a camera on a regular basis. However, I found the camera to be extremely intuitive to work with for videography, even as an individual who had little prior experience filming anything. You can see the results for yourself in the video above! Thanks to the Canon EOS 200D II’s ability to deliver 4k movie shooting, I was able to document my trip in superior quality for crystal clear memories to look back upon.
You might think that documenting moving objects like the train in the video above would produce clumsy results for an inexperienced beginner, but this was not at all the case with the Canon EOS 200D II. Instead, I found that if I want to shoot something in motion, it is all too easy thanks to the DSLR’s maximum continuous shooting speed of up to a stunning 5 frames per second. This ensures that I don’t miss anything, and we can smoothly segue from one motion to the next without any awkward halting motions. Additionally, the Canon EOS 200D II allows you to pack an impressive punch in your creations with its range of effects you can choose from, including miniature, fish-eye, and art-bold just to name a few.
It’s easy to conclude that I more than appreciated having the Canon EOS 200D II with me on my trip to Korea – in fact, I loved it. Thanks to its intuitive features that produce professional-looking results, I’m no longer daunted by the once-elusive art forms of photography and videography.
