Exploring Singapore with OPPO Find X9 Pro

OPPO just announced its latest flagship models, the OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, on October 29, 2025.

This new series delivers an exceptional all-around experience, combining a camera system co-engineered with Hasselblad, revolutionary battery life, powerful performance, and the smart, smooth ColorOS 16.

NXT is privileged to receive the Find X9 Pro review unit a few days before its global launch, and we spent a week going through the features.

The OPPO Find X9 Pro has incorporated numerous hardware improvements to make this model worth upgrading to. For consumers who are still using their existing phones for more than a year, the Find X9 Pro is a compelling option.

Compared to the Find X8 Pro, the Find X9 Pro is almost the same dimension, but its battery capacity has increased by more than 26% – from 5910mAh to 7500mAh. The display size is still 6.78 inches, but its screen ratio has increased to 95% with bezels measuring just 1.15mm.

The alert slider has been replaced with a Snap Key that can be customised to activate other functions like audio recorder, torch, translation, or activate Mind Space, a feature to help collect memories by saving screen content, recording voice notes, and summarising information that you collect.

The shutter button is also retained from the Find X8 Pro, allowing you to press it to take photos, slide to adjust zoom, or assign it as a quick button to open the camera app instead of double-clicking the volume down button. The slide to adjust the zoom function only works in landscape orientation to prevent accidental swipes when holding in portrait orientation.

The OPPO Find X9 Pro debuts a new-generation Hasselblad Master Camera System that features an Ultra XDR 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-808 sensor f/1.6 aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a new 3x telephoto camera with a massive 1/1.56-inch 200MP sensor, f/2.1 aperture and 10cm minimum focus distance.

It is a design change over the Find X8 Pro, which uses two telephoto lenses and improves shooting speed and versatility due to the faster aperture and short minimum focus distance.

After exploring the various modes, I feel like I am using multiple camera systems in one smartphone. The standard Photo mode allows you to zoom and shoot from 0.6x to 120x, storing every well-lit photo in 50MP while reducing to 25MP or 12MP when the images are shot in less-ideal lighting conditions.

The Portrait mode limits the shooting range from 1x to 3.6x with the option to adjust aperture for the depth-of-field effect.

In Hasselblad Hi-Res mode, you can only frame in 0.6x, 1x and 3x shots at 50MP, and cannot do digital zoom. At 3x, there is an option to switch to 200MP.

The Master mode allows zoom range from 0.6x to 10x with the option to manually control the ISO, shutter speed, EV, AF, and white balance.

Finally, the XPAN mode mimics the XPan 65:24 aspect ratio, but unlike the actual film, this mode on the smartphone is effectively a crop from the sensor, so you might as well crop it after taking a normal shot, but the preview window does trigger some creative perspective. Just like in Master mode, the zoom factor is fixed at 0.6x, 1x, 2x and 3x.

Additionally, the Find X9 Pro supports the optional Teleconverter accessory that extends the optical zoom range to 10x and further extends the digital zoom range to 200x for photos and 50x for video. This is a must-have add-on for concert goers to get the best long-range video capture.

Such shooting limitations are not uncommon, but the Find X9 Pro offers more variations with limitations on zoom controls and other adjustments to achieve high-quality results to carry the Hasselblad brand image. Indeed, the images turn out looking really premium, colour tones are rich and film-like, dynamic range is wide with shadows and highlights retained.

I probably took for granted all the computational photography algorithms processing in the background after every shot, as the smartphone LUMOS Image Engine captures every shot quickly without noticeable lag. It did take a bit of time for the final image to appear during playback, but the processing is done in the background and does not affect the operations.

If you are still sitting on the fence on the OPPO Find X9 Pro, here is an offer that hopefully will make your decision easier: during the early launch promotion phase, you can get S$300 off the retail price of S$1599.

For S$1299, the OPPO Find X9 Pro is an unbeatable value smartphone with flagship specs and a pro-level camera system.
