TAG Heuer Celebrates Indy 500 Legacy with New Formula 1 Solargraph Limited Edition

Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has unveiled the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph X Indy 500, a timepiece inspired by one of motorsport’s most iconic racing events, the Indianapolis 500.

Announced on 11 May 2026, the watch continues TAG Heuer’s long-standing relationship with racing culture and marks the brand’s thirteenth collaboration with the Indy 500.

The new release blends contemporary watchmaking with racing-inspired design cues, while introducing TAG Heuer’s Solargraph light-powered movement into the Formula 1 collection.

A Watch Inspired by the Energy of the Indy 500
According to TAG Heuer, the watch captures the intensity and precision associated with the Indy 500, where fractions of a second can define victory and legacy.

The 38mm case features a sandblasted steel finish paired with a black TH-Polylight bidirectional bezel accented by brown markings. The design also incorporates several visual references to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Both the dial and caseback feature the Indy 500 logo alongside a brick pattern inspired by the track’s historic “Yard of Bricks” finish line.

The black opalin dial is contrasted by a brown minuterie ring, while rhodium-plated indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova improve readability in low-light conditions. A red lacquered second hand adds a subtle motorsport-inspired accent.

Powered by Solargraph Light Technology
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph X Indy 500 is powered by the TH50-00 Solargraph movement, which uses both natural and artificial light as its energy source.
TAG Heuer says:
● One minute of direct sunlight provides enough power for a full day of operation
● A full charge can be achieved in under 40 hours of light exposure
● The watch can run for up to 10 months in complete darkness after a full charge

Even after fully stopping, the watch can restart with just 10 seconds of light exposure. The accumulator is also rated for a lifespan of up to 15 years.

Motorsport Heritage Meets Modern Watch Design
TAG Heuer highlighted that the Formula 1 collection has remained closely tied to motorsport culture since its original launch in 1986.

The latest Solargraph edition continues that legacy while appealing to a broader, modern audience, including younger collectors and motorsport fans who engage with racing culture beyond the racetrack.

The watch is paired with a sandblasted steel three-row bracelet featuring a folding clasp with double safety push-buttons and an adjustment extension system for improved comfort and versatility.
