Apple HomeView Brings Siri AI, Entertainment and Smart Home Control Together in One Screen

Apple is bringing a new level of intelligence and convenience into the home with the introduction of Apple HomeView, a smart display designed to keep households entertained, connected and organised. Powered by Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI, HomeView combines the functionality of a smart speaker, digital photo frame, communication device and smart home dashboard into one compact screen.

Whether placed on a kitchen counter, bedside table or mounted on a wall, HomeView is designed to become a natural part of everyday routines. From playing music and following recipes to making FaceTime calls and checking who’s at the front door, the device aims to make managing a connected home simpler and more intuitive.

A Stylish Display That Fits Anywhere
Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display connected to a rounded speaker base through an adjustable stainless steel hinge. Its minimalist aluminium design makes it suitable for different living spaces, while the tilting display allows users to adjust the viewing angle for greater comfort.

Available in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey, the tabletop model comes with a matching cable for a coordinated appearance.

The display incorporates True Tone technology and automatic brightness adjustment, reaching up to 500 nits in brighter environments and dimming to just 0.3 nits at night.

It also intelligently changes the amount of information displayed depending on how far away the user is, showing larger, simpler details from across the room and more information when someone approaches.

For those who prefer a cleaner setup, Apple is also introducing a wall-mounted version in silver and space grey. It offers the same 7-inch display and core functionality, with dedicated mounting accessories from Schneider Home.

Siri AI Makes Everyday Tasks More Natural
At the heart of HomeView is Siri AI, Apple’s next-generation voice assistant powered by Apple Intelligence and the A18 chip.

Designed to understand natural conversations, Siri AI allows users to ask questions, request information and perform tasks without having to remember specific voice commands. It can help with everything from discovering new music to answering general questions or assisting with everyday activities around the house.

When paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI becomes even more personal. It can draw on relevant information from Messages, Calendar and other supported apps to provide contextual assistance.

For instance, users could ask about an upcoming appointment, retrieve information mentioned in a conversation or find a playlist they previously enjoyed.

Conversations started on HomeView can also continue through the Siri app on other Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, making it easier to pick up where a discussion left off.

One Device, Personalised for the Whole Family
Unlike a conventional smart display that presents the same interface to everyone, HomeView can recognise up to six household members by their faces, automatically adapting its content to the person using it.

Each family member can have a personalised Home Screen with their preferred apps, widgets and information. Shared content, such as family photo albums and music, remains accessible to everyone, while personal information stays private.

Apple has also introduced several customisable display faces to give HomeView more personality. The Photos face transforms the device into a digital photo frame with portrait-style depth effects, while the Flow face responds to movement with animated visuals.

There’s even a playful Snoopy face featuring animations that change according to the time of day, weather and sporting events.

Entertainment That Fills the Room
Despite its compact size, HomeView is designed to deliver an impressive listening experience.

The tabletop model features two custom full-range drivers, a downward-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators, supported by computational audio that continuously adjusts sound performance.

The system delivers Spatial Audio for a more immersive listening experience, whether users are enjoying their favourite playlists, listening to podcasts or watching videos.

HomeView supports Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV and compatible third-party entertainment apps. Apple Music users can also enjoy animated album artwork and synchronised lyrics directly on the display.

With Handoff, users can transfer supported content from their iPhone to HomeView, making it easy to continue listening to music or enjoying entertainment when they return home.

For households with multiple Apple speakers, HomeView can work alongside HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay-compatible devices to create a multiroom audio experience.

Stay Connected with FaceTime and Everyday Essentials
HomeView also doubles as a convenient communication device, allowing family members to make FaceTime video calls with Centre Stage, which automatically adjusts the camera framing as people move around.

Messages can be read and answered through voice commands or the onscreen keyboard, while Intercom allows users to broadcast announcements to other compatible Apple devices around the house.

In the kitchen, HomeView can turn online recipes into step-by-step cooking instructions, complete with hands-free timers and ingredient tracking. This makes it particularly useful when preparing meals without constantly touching a phone or tablet.

The device also supports Find My, allowing users to locate misplaced Apple devices and AirTag-equipped belongings, or check the locations of family members who have chosen to share them.

A Central Dashboard for the Smart Home
Beyond entertainment and communication, HomeView serves as a central control point for compatible smart home accessories.
Through the Apple Home app or Siri AI, users can adjust lighting, control thermostats, lock doors, operate blinds and monitor security cameras from a single interface.

The Home Camera display can show up to nine live camera feeds simultaneously, making it easier to keep an eye on different areas of the home.

With compatible cameras and a supported iCloud+ subscription, HomeView can also recognise familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles. Intelligent video descriptions help users understand recorded events without having to watch every clip.

For added peace of mind, the device can detect the sound of smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and send notifications to supported Apple devices.

HomeView also works with Apple’s newly announced Home Collection accessories, as well as other compatible Matter and Apple Home products.

Privacy Designed for Shared Spaces
With HomeView potentially handling personal messages, calendars and camera footage, Apple has placed considerable emphasis on privacy.

The device uses Secure Exclaves within its A18 chip to isolate sensitive camera and microphone processing from the rest of the system.

Personal information is only displayed when the appropriate household member is recognised and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and has been recently unlocked.

Siri AI requests can be processed directly on the device or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute infrastructure, which is designed to prevent personal data from being stored or accessed by Apple.

These protections are particularly important for a device intended to be shared by several people within the same household.
