It is marking 25 years since the introduction of the first DATOGRAPH, A. Lange & Söhne is unveiling the DATOGRAPH HANDWERKSKUNST, a limited-edition timepiece that merges technical brilliance with artisanal craftsmanship. Available in a limited run of just 25 pieces, this masterpiece boasts intricate dial and movement decorations, elevating the iconic DATOGRAPH to new heights.
The DATOGRAPH HANDWERKSKUNST features a yellow-gold case with a 41mm diameter and a black rhodium dial adorned with tremblage engraving, creating a stunning three-dimensional texture. This technique, which requires precision and patience, enhances the dial’s depth while maintaining the clarity of essential elements like the Roman numerals, tachymeter scale, and outsize date.
Inside, the timepiece is powered by the calibre L951.8, a manually wound movement that showcases A. Lange & Söhne’s expertise in chronograph construction. The movement features black-polished chronograph levers, reflecting light in a single direction to achieve a jet-black finish from specific angles.
The hand-engraved balance cock, featuring a floral vine motif, adds another layer of artistic flair, paying homage to the brand’s history of precision pocket watches.
Limited to 25 pieces, the DATOGRAPH HANDWERKSKUNST will debut at Watches & Wonders Shanghai 2024 and the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace. This highly coveted timepiece is available exclusively at Lange boutiques, embodying the fusion of tradition, artistry, and horological mastery
