DOXA is giving one of its most recognisable dive watches a high-performance material upgrade with the launch of the SUB 300 Ti5, bringing Grade 5 titanium back into the brand’s permanent collection.
Introduced in Singapore on September 2, the new SUB 300 Ti5 will be offered in seven variations, spanning six of DOXA’s signature colourways and a distinctive WhitePearl edition. Despite the change in material, DOXA has retained the fundamental design and diving features that have defined the SUB family since the original model appeared in 1967.
The biggest change is the extensive use of Grade 5 titanium for the case, crown and screw-in caseback. Around 40 per cent lighter than stainless steel, the material combines reduced weight with high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, making it particularly well suited to a watch designed for prolonged wear in and around water.
Titanium’s resistance to seawater, humidity and temperature fluctuations also makes it a natural choice for a professional-style dive watch. The trade-off is manufacturing complexity, as Grade 5 titanium requires specialised processes and expertise to machine and finish. For DOXA, its return to the permanent SUB 300 range is intended to improve comfort and durability without fundamentally changing the character of the watch.
The SUB 300 Ti5 remains water-resistant to 300 metres, or 984 feet, and retains DOXA’s patented unidirectional rotating bezel. Its dual-scale layout correlates depth with dive time, allowing divers to reference no-decompression limits established by the US Navy.
Legibility remains central to the design. Dive-related indications beneath the domed, anti-reflective “glass box” sapphire crystal are treated with Super-LumiNova, while DOXA’s oversized orange minute hand continues to serve as an immediate visual reference underwater.
The most unusual member of the collection is the SUB 300 Ti5 WhitePearl, which takes the luminous treatment considerably further. Its dial is completely coated in Super-LumiNova, transforming the entire dial surface into a source of illumination rather than limiting lume to the hands and hour markers. It gives the WhitePearl a dramatically different appearance in low-light conditions while retaining the functional emphasis of the wider SUB range.
Inside, DOXA has fitted the SUB 300 Ti5 with a COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4Hz. It provides approximately 38 hours of power reserve, while a screw-down crown and screw-in caseback help maintain the watch’s 300-metre water resistance.
DOXA is pairing the new titanium watches with vintage-inspired rubber straps matched to their respective colourways. The SUB 300 Ti5 Professional comes with orange rubber, the Sharkhunter with black, and the Caribbean with blue. The Red Coral can be paired with either Red Cherry or black rubber, while the WhitePearl is available with black or white rubber.
In Singapore, the SUB 300 Ti5 Professional, Sharkhunter, Caribbean and Red Coral variants are priced at S$4,470, including taxes.
The more distinctive WhitePearl versions are priced at S$4,630, whether paired with the black or white rubber strap.
