LG Expands Its 2018 Lineup of OLED TVs with the New LG B8S 4K OLED TV

LG recently announced the new LG B8S 4K OLED TV. Made in Korea, the B8S adds to the 2018 line-up of 4K OLED TVs, and packs the usual powerful features of the OLED series such as α (Alpha) 7 processor, 4K Cinema HDR, 4K High Frame Rate, and LG’s ThinQ Artificial Intelligence (AI), which processes and responds to requests based on voice commands.

Excellent Picture Quality with Superior Performance

The LG B8S OLED TV is equipped with LG’s α 7 processor, which provides true-to-life images filled with rich colors, sharpness, and depth for more realism. Its precise dual-step noise reduction process reduces grain and banding noise, improving clarity and smoothness of pictures. The processor also augments color performance, thanks to the advanced mapping capabilities that make colors look close to the original content.

4K Cinema HDR Experience Right in the Comfort of the Home

The LG B8S OLED TV will also feature 4K Cinema HDR, which brings a truly cinematic experience to the home. The feature adds support for Advanced HDR by Technicolor, and supports most major HDR formats, from processing HDR images dynamically frame by frame through Dolby Vision to HDR10 Pro and HLG Pro (Hybrid Log-Gamma). The TV builds on LG’s proprietary algorithm, such as the Enhanced Dynamic Tone mapping giving people a superior viewing experience. The cinematic experience is further enhanced with the support of Dolby Atmos that offers object-based surround sound for the best audio-visual experience possible.

Shaping a New Entertainment Lifestyle through Intelligence

LG’s ThinQ AI TV is powered by the fifth generation of webOS TV operating system platform. It offers a launcher bar for easy access and switching between apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Toggle, LG Gallery, or other commonly accessed functions like the web browser or TV scheduler. The 2018 LG TVs also features the new ThinQ AI that delivers intelligent voice-activated control. Viewers can speak directly into the remote control to give voice commands and execute actions such as setting the TV timer,  changing the picture mode without manually navigating the interface, or search for recommendations of movies available through the various content apps.
