StarHub is giving its mobile network a boost with the launch of 5G+, a new service powered by the deployment of 700MHz spectrum. The company says the technology is designed to provide stronger and more consistent connectivity, particularly in areas where mobile signals can be challenging.
Available across all StarHub 5G mobile plans, 5G+ is designed to improve connectivity in places such as office buildings, shopping malls, basements, car parks and crowded event venues. The lower-frequency 700MHz spectrum can travel further and penetrate buildings more effectively, helping extend coverage into harder-to-reach areas.
According to StarHub, customers can see up to four times faster speeds indoors and underground, making it easier to stay connected while moving between different environments throughout the day.
The upgrade does not require customers to change their plans. Existing StarHub customers on 5G mobile plans will receive 5G+ automatically, while new customers will have access from the start. Since 5G+ is available across the company’s 5G mobile plans, customers do not need to move to a specific premium tier to benefit from the network upgrade.
5G+ also targets enterprise connectivity
StarHub is also positioning 5G+ as an upgrade for businesses that depend on reliable mobile connectivity.
Through its Enterprise Priority Services, organisations can prioritise network access for selected users and critical workflows during periods of high network demand. This could help support field teams, collaboration tools and other operations where maintaining connectivity is particularly important.
50% off selected plans to celebrate the launch
To mark the launch, new sign-ups and customers porting their numbers to StarHub’s Unlimited+ Max and Platinum plans will receive 50% off for six months. The promotion starts on 1 September 2026.
The launch builds on StarHub’s ongoing investment in its network, with the telco aiming to provide customers with more consistent connectivity across the places they use their devices most.
