Ressence Expands TYPE 7 Collection with Striking New Black and Cactus Editions

Belgian independent watchmaker Ressence has expanded its TYPE 7 collection with two new colourways, introducing the TYPE 7 Black and TYPE 7 Cactus. The latest additions build upon the brand’s vision of the modern tool watch, combining distinctive aesthetics with the innovative mechanical engineering that has become synonymous with Ressence.

Originally launched to celebrate the company’s 15th anniversary, the TYPE 7 marked a significant milestone for the brand. Designed as a contemporary tool watch equally at home in the city and the outdoors, it brought together an oil-filled dial, an integrated titanium bracelet, a second time zone display and water resistance in a sleek, highly legible package.
With the arrival of the new Black and Cactus variants, Ressence offers two contrasting interpretations of the TYPE 7’s minimalist design language.

The TYPE 7 Black delivers perhaps the purest expression of the brand’s signature oil-filled display technology. The deep black dial creates a dramatic backdrop for the bright white indications, resulting in a display that appears almost digital in its clarity. The oil-filled chamber beneath the sapphire crystal enhances the sense of depth while eliminating visual distortion, making the time instantly readable from virtually any angle. Paired with the titanium case and bracelet, the monochromatic design reinforces the watch’s contemporary, purpose-driven character.

Meanwhile, the TYPE 7 Cactus introduces a more expressive personality. The rich green dial has been specifically developed to complement the warm tones of the Grade 5 titanium case and bracelet, which feature a refined glass-pearl finish. The result is a distinctive yet understated aesthetic that balances technical sophistication with individuality, offering a refreshing alternative to traditional sports watch colours.

Despite their visual differences, both models remain faithful to the TYPE 7’s core philosophy of everyday versatility. Each watch is available with a matching rubber strap, providing a lighter and sportier wearing experience while maintaining the collection’s integrated design aesthetic.

At the heart of both timepieces is Ressence’s patented ROCS 7 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, which powers the brand’s unique orbital display. The watches also feature Ressence’s signature crownless architecture and the innovative Ressence Compression Lock System, underscoring the company’s commitment to intuitive, human-centred watchmaking.

Encased in lightweight Grade 5 titanium and paired with a fixed ceramic bezel for added durability, the TYPE 7 Black and TYPE 7 Cactus continue Ressence’s pursuit of combining functionality, comfort and visual innovation in a modern mechanical watch.

The Ressence TYPE 7 Black and TYPE 7 Cactus are priced at SGD 63,000 each, inclusive of tax.
