Google has introduced the Fitbit Edge, its next-generation fitness tracker designed to combine advanced health monitoring, comprehensive workout tracking and personalised coaching in a slim, lightweight design.
Priced at S$249 in Singapore, Fitbit Edge brings Google’s Health Coach experience to a compact device designed for active lifestyles and everyday wear. It combines Fitbit’s health and fitness expertise with Google’s software and services to help users monitor their activity, understand their recovery and work towards their wellness goals.
Slim Design with a Larger, Brighter Display
Fitbit Edge is designed for users who want something between an advanced smartwatch like the Pixel Watch and a simple, screenless fitness band like Fitbit Air. It features a durable recycled aluminium housing with a slim profile that naturally contours to the wrist.

Despite its lightweight design, Fitbit Edge offers a larger display and extended battery life, making it suitable for all-day wear and overnight health monitoring.
The tracker features Fitbit’s largest and brightest display yet, offering 46% more viewing area than previous Fitbit trackers. Its Hybrid OLED screen is designed to remain readable even in direct sunlight, while glanceable tiles and expressive clock faces make it easier to check essential information.

Measuring just 11.5mm thick, Fitbit Edge features a carefully shaped silhouette designed to follow the natural curve of the wrist. Its case is also 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12, according to Google.

A redesigned physical side button provides tactile feedback, allowing users to perform quick actions, such as opening the workout pause screen, without navigating through multiple menus.
A Refined Interface with Everyday Features
Building on the interface introduced with Pixel Watch 5, Fitbit Edge features a redesigned on-device interface that puts key information within easy reach.

Customisable complications display essential information such as step counts, weather and workout shortcuts, while dedicated tiles provide access to Google Health metrics, including sleep, cycle tracking and heart rate.
Beyond health and fitness, Fitbit Edge supports everyday features such as Google Maps navigation, media controls, and call and message notifications.

Users can also choose from a range of customisable watch faces and interchangeable bands to suit their activities and personal style.
Advanced Workout Tracking and Built-in GPS
Fitbit Edge brings a range of workout tools directly to the wrist, with support for more than 50 exercise modes through its exercise app. Real-time guidance helps users monitor relevant performance metrics during different activities.

These include core workout metrics for Pilates, pace targets for running, heart rate zones for high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and split times for track workouts. The information is displayed at a glance, allowing users to monitor their performance without interrupting their sessions.
Built-in precision GPS provides up to 40% improved tracking accuracy compared with previous generations, allowing users to record outdoor routes without carrying a smartphone. Google attributes this improvement to an upgraded GPS chipset and an aluminium housing incorporating nano-moulded technology.

An integrated altimeter measures elevation changes during activities such as hill sprints, outdoor runs and stair workouts, giving users a more complete picture of their physical output.
Fitbit Edge can also automatically recognise and categorise up to 100 types of workouts. Its activity recognition system analyses the context of movement to identify activities such as outdoor running, cycling and daily walks, even when users forget to start tracking manually. This helps ensure that their activity contributes towards their weekly fitness goals.
Comprehensive Health Monitoring and Personalised Coaching
Underneath its exterior, Fitbit Edge combines advanced sensors with intelligent health tracking to provide insights into users’ overall well-being.

Its new Health Guardian features monitor changes in selected health indicators, including blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends and unusually high or low heart rates. These features are designed to help users identify changes in their health patterns over time.
Eligible Google Health Premium users who meet the monthly wear requirements can receive reports to help them better understand these patterns and have more informed conversations with their doctors.

With Google Health Premium, the Health Coach can also help users interpret changes in their tracked health patterns, provide personalised lifestyle and wellness guidance, adapt fitness plans and offer context for discussions with healthcare professionals.
Fitbit Edge includes an on-wrist electrocardiogram (ECG) app for on-demand heart rhythm assessments, alongside continuous optical heart rate monitoring to track heart rate patterns during rest and recovery.

For overnight monitoring, a dedicated skin temperature sensor tracks nightly fluctuations. Combined with sleep-stage analysis and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, these readings contribute to a daily recovery score, helping users understand how well they have recovered before their next workout.
Up to Seven Days of Battery Life
Fitbit Edge offers up to seven days of battery life on a single charge, allowing users to track workouts during the day and monitor sleep overnight without needing to recharge every evening.

When the battery runs low, fast magnetic charging can provide enough power for a full day of use in just five minutes.
The tracker features a protective metal housing and is water-resistant up to 50 metres, making it suitable for a range of workouts and water-related activities.
It is also Google’s first repairable fitness tracker, featuring an internal modular architecture and a replaceable battery designed to extend the device’s lifespan.
Four Finishes and Interchangeable Bands
Fitbit Edge is available in four finishes, each paired with an ultra-soft Active Band. The options include Obsidian with a Matte Black case, Fog with a Polished Silver case, Olive with a Satin Pyrite case, and Canyon with a Warm Gold case.

Users can further personalise the tracker with a range of interchangeable accessories, including the breathable Active Sport Band, the micro-adjustable Performance Loop Band, the Magnet Band and the Metal Links Band.

The available band options include Active Sport Bands in Obsidian and Hibiscus, Performance Loop Bands in Canyon and Olive, and Magnet Bands in Mahogany and Fog. For a more premium look, the Metal Links Band is available in Brushed Silver and Champagne Gold.
Google Health App and Health Coach Updates
Alongside the launch of Fitbit Edge, Google is rolling out more than 55 updates and fixes to the Google Health app and Google Health Coach.

These updates include more personalised health insights, improved activity detection and deeper integrations with health and wellness apps, further expanding the tools available to users to monitor their health and fitness.
