Swiss watchmaker ZENITH has introduced a striking new version of the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon, now crafted entirely in rose gold for the first time. The new release combines the bold architectural design of the DEFY Skyline collection with a rich brick-red dial inspired directly by ZENITH’s historic manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland.
Originally launched in 2022 as a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1969 DEFY line, the DEFY Skyline has quickly become one of ZENITH’s contemporary flagship collections. According to the brand, this latest rose gold edition elevates the Skyline concept further by blending heritage-inspired design with the manufacturer’s high-frequency watchmaking expertise.
A Tribute to ZENITH’s Historic Manufacture
The defining visual feature of the new DEFY Skyline Tourbillon is its deep brick-red dial, which pays homage to the distinctive red-and-white brickwork of ZENITH’s historic manufacture building in Le Locle.
The dial is decorated with ZENITH’S signature engraved four-pointed star motif radiating outward from the tourbillon aperture positioned at 6 o’clock. Rose gold hands and faceted hour markers coated with Super-LumiNova complement the warm tones of the case while maintaining strong legibility.
The 41mm case itself features alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces that highlight the angular geometry and integrated design language of the DEFY Skyline series. ZENITH says the use of full rose gold brings a new sense of warmth and refinement to the collection’s modern architecture.
Powered by the El Primero 3630 Tourbillon Movement
At the heart of the watch is the El Primero 3630, an in-house automatic high-frequency movement developed and manufactured entirely by ZENITH.
Operating at 5Hz or 36,000 vibrations per hour, the movement delivers a 50-hour power reserve while driving the tourbillon carriage, which completes one full rotation every 60 seconds. The lightweight black tourbillon carriage is shaped like ZENITH’S signature double-Z star and weighs just 0.25 grams.
ZENITH also incorporated a rose gold openworked star-shaped oscillating weight for the first time within the DEFY Skyline collection. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement is finished with a contemporary 3D laser-engraved “côtes de Genève” motif radiating outward from the tourbillon in a sunray pattern.
Integrated Bracelet and Quick Strap System
The new DEFY Skyline Tourbillon comes fitted with an integrated rose gold H-link bracelet featuring a folding clasp designed for comfort and seamless integration with the case.
ZENITH also includes an additional brick-red rubber strap that matches the tone of the dial. Both straps can be swapped quickly without tools using the brand’s interchangeable strap system.
The watch is water resistant up to 10 ATM and continues the DEFY Skyline collection’s focus on combining luxury sports watch aesthetics with high-performance horology.

The DEFY Skyline Tourbillon is available exclusively through ZENITH boutiques worldwide, both online and in physical stores, as well as selected authorised retailers.
The watch carries a retail price of S$135,300.
