Synology has officially introduced the DiskStation DS925+, a new 4-bay NAS designed for professionals and businesses that need high-performance, scalable, and reliable data management. Alongside it comes the DX525, an expansion unit that extends the system’s capacity for growing storage needs.
“The 4-bay Plus Series has seen over a million deployments and remains a favourite among both professionals and enterprise users,” said Jeffrey Huang, Synology Product Manager. “With the DS925+, we’ve built a powerful and dependable solution for edge deployments and demanding workloads.”
Compact Yet Powerful with Room to Grow
The DS925+ is built to handle intensive data tasks, offering dual 2.5GbE ports and two M.2 NVMe slots for cache acceleration or all-flash volume setups. Compared to the previous generation, users can expect major performance boosts—up to 150% faster upload speeds, 149% faster downloads, and significantly quicker read/write performance.
Storage scalability is a core feature: users can expand the DS925+ up to nine total drive bays by connecting the new DX525 expansion unit. This setup supports up to 180TB of raw capacity, making it suitable for expanding business environments.
Optimised for use with Synology hard drives, the DS925+ undergoes over 7,000 hours of stress testing for reliability. Installation requires compatible drives, ensuring tight system integration and long-term dependability through Synology’s drive compatibility framework.
Business-Ready with Robust Software Features
Powered by Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM), the DS925+ includes a full suite of features tailored for business:
● Synology Drive: A private cloud solution with cross-platform access and remote file syncing for distributed teams.
● Active Backup Suite: Complete backup options for Windows, Linux, macOS, virtual machines, and cloud accounts with support for off-site backups.
● Surveillance Station: A scalable surveillance solution with real-time analytics to protect physical assets.
