Five JAECOO J7 PHEVs embarked on this real-world test, each surpassing the 1,200km WLTP range, with the longest recorded at an impressive 1,427.5km on a single tank and charge.

The test drive, which concluded in Hatyai, Thailand, on 16 January 2025, demonstrated the exceptional fuel economy of the JAECOO J7 PHEV. The vehicle achieved a petrol-only range of 947km, while its purely electric mode covered 108km, exceeding its expected specification by 18km. Even more striking, the J7 PHEV outperformed its rated 6.6L/100km fuel consumption, recording an impressive 3.5L/100km during the journey.
This milestone underscores JAECOO’s commitment to efficiency, performance, and sustainability. The J7 PHEV is equipped with an 18.3kW battery and a 60-litre fuel tank, producing a robust 525 Nm of torque through its dedicated hybrid transmission, ensuring smooth and powerful performance.
Industry-First DC Fast Charging for PHEVs
A standout feature of the JAECOO J7 PHEV is its DC fast-charging capability, a rare find in plug-in hybrid vehicles. While AC charging replenishes 30% to 80% battery in three hours (6.6kW), the DC fast charge option achieves the same in just 20 minutes at 40kW, a significant advantage for drivers who value quick recharges.
