It’s the last day of NXT Magazine’s media trip to the HKTDC Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition). The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) kindly invited us to attend the Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia from October 13-16, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Featuring around 3,200 international exhibitors from 19 countries, the fair will showcase smart products, electronic components, and innovative technological solutions across various sectors, including smart mobility and digital entertainment.
We attended the conference where Chris Chong, COO of ASTRI shared his excitement on Hong Kong’s initiatives to promote CAV development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. After supporting the Smart Mobility Roadmap since its release in 2019, ASTRID has achieved significant progress with the help of numerous organisations and industry leaders. The enactment of autonomous vehicle regulations this year allows for broader applications of CAV technologies and data collection.
Testing of CAVs on public roads, starting with shuttle buses in 2025 in West Kowloon, aims to enhance urban mobility and safety, while collaboration among stakeholders is crucial for future advancements.
Aside from the conference, our journalist, Han Yun, went to the rest of the booths and carefully selected a list of new and upcoming technologies and electronics for our readers. Let’s check it out:
