Sound Unleashed: Bowers & Wilkins’s Pi6 and Pi8 Wireless Earbuds

Renowned audio brand Bowers & Wilkins has introduced two new premium True Wireless earbuds, the Pi6 and Pi8, developed by the same teams responsible for the acclaimed Px7 S2e and Px8 headphones.

The Pi6 and Pi8 feature an all-new industrial design with completely revised mechanical, electronic, and acoustic engineering, making them the most comfortable and best-sounding earbuds Bowers & Wilkins has ever produced. They utilize Qualcomm wireless transmission technology and are equipped with advanced active noise cancellation (ANC), aiming to replicate the brand’s success in premium over-ear headphones within the earbud market.

Pi6: Outstanding Sound and Comfort at an Accessible Price
The Pi6 earbuds, built on the same platform as the Pi8, offer a more affordable option without compromising on performance.

Featuring Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Adaptive wireless transmission at 24-bit/96kHz, and 12mm bio-cellulose drivers derived from the Px7 S2e, the Pi6 delivers exceptional sound quality.

The earbuds also support multipoint pairing, allowing for seamless switching between two devices.

Pi8: Redefining Reference-Quality Audio
The flagship Pi8 earbuds push the boundaries of performance even further.

They are equipped with 12mm Carbon Cone drivers, similar to those found in the Px8 headphones, and support both aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless for the highest possible wireless audio quality.

The Pi8 also includes a dedicated DSP, DAC, and amplification from ADI, ensuring precise and accurate sound reproduction.

Premium Design and Advanced Features
Both the Pi6 and Pi8 earbuds boast an elegant design with premium materials, an IP54 rating for durability, and an ergonomic shape developed through extensive research into ear anatomy. The earbuds offer multipoint Bluetooth pairing, easy setup via the Bowers & Wilkins Music app, and support for Made for iPhone (MFi) and Google Fast Pair (coming soon after launch).

The Pi8 comes with a five-band EQ for personalized sound adjustment, while the Pi6 offers simpler treble and bass controls. Both models feature advanced touch controls, improved wireless connectivity, and enhanced microphone placement for clearer calls and superior noise cancellation.

Battery Life and Smart Charging Case
The Pi6 provides up to 8 hours of playback on a full charge, with an additional 16 hours available from the charging case, totalling 24 hours of use. The Pi8 offers 6.5 hours of listening time, with an extra 13.5 hours from its Smartcase, which also supports wireless charging and audio retransmission in aptX Adaptive quality.

Stylish Finishes
The Pi6 will be available in Storm Grey, Cloud Grey, Forest Green, and Glacier Blue, while the Pi8 will come in Anthracite Black, Dove White, Jade Green, and Midnight Blue.

Giles Pocock, Vice-President of Brand Marketing, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating that the new Pi6 and Pi8 earbuds are poised to achieve the same level of success as Bowers & Wilkins’ over-ear headphones.

The Pi8 is available now from the Bowers & Wilkins website for USD 399. The Pi6 will be available starting in early September for USD 249.
