Responding to community feedback on last year’s product releases, Dell aimed to enhance the m16, creating a powerful yet portable gaming laptop. The result is the m16 R2, a redesigned notebook prioritizing performance, flexibility, and portability while retaining the distinct Alienware features.
To achieve this balance, Dell made significant changes, starting with eliminating the thermal shelf to make the laptop more travel-friendly. Engineers redesigned the Cryo-tech cooling system, increasing efficiency by 43%, all while reducing the laptop’s depth by 14%, resulting in a 15% smaller footprint than the previous generation.
The m16 R2 features a larger palm rest and touchpad, achieved through a slim 180-degree hinge. The touchpad now boasts RGB stadium loop lighting, moved to a more visible area. Additionally, Dell introduces Stealth Mode, activated by a hotkey, allowing the laptop to blend into its surroundings by turning off RGB lighting, switching to white backlighting, and setting performance mode to Quiet.
The notebook packs Intel® Core™ Ultra H Series processors and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 40 Series mobile graphics, providing ample power for high-frame-rate gaming. Dolby Atmos support enhances immersion, and a QHD+, 240Hz display delivers stunning visuals. Key upgrades include a smaller footprint, Stealth Mode, a large 90Whr battery with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, and Intel® Core™ Ultra H Series processors with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 40 Series mobile GPUs.
