Pixel Watch 5: Smarter Assistance and Next-Level Health Tracking on Your Wrist

Google’s Pixel Watch 5 takes the smartwatch beyond notifications and fitness tracking, combining proactive Gemini Intelligence with more advanced health, fitness and safety features. Building on the Pixel Watch 4, the new model is designed to anticipate what you need, surface useful information at the right moment, and provide more personalised guidance throughout the day.

Helpfulness at a Glance
The Pixel Watch 5 works quietly in the background with At a Glance, delivering context-aware information directly to your wrist. It can surface boarding passes when you arrive at the airport, show remaining stops during your commute, and provide other timely updates without requiring you to search through apps.

Gemini interaction is also faster through an improved Raise to Talk feature. Lift your wrist to start a workout, set a timer or retrieve information such as dinner reservations from Gmail. With on-device AI handling core actions, many tasks can be processed quickly even when you’re offline.

Google’s new Gemini Intelligence Proactive Suggestions takes this further by anticipating useful actions.

If someone asks about an upcoming family dinner, for example, Gemini can find the relevant calendar information and surface it automatically. One-handed double-pinch gestures then let you select, confirm and send actions without reaching for your phone.

More Power for Faster AI
Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated processor and a power-efficient dual-chip architecture. Google says the watch has 50% more RAM and a 12% CPU boost, resulting in performance that is up to 20% faster.

The extra power is designed to make everything from Gemini interactions to proactive recommendations feel more responsive, while keeping everyday smartwatch functions running efficiently.

Smarter Fitness with Google Health Coach
Fitness tracking gets a major upgrade with Google’s most accurate GPS route tracking yet. The Pixel Watch 5 delivers up to 2x greater GPS accuracy than previous generations by combining 3D building models, satellite data, atmospheric corrections and AI-driven optimisation.

A new Strength Training experience, coming soon, will bring step-by-step workout guidance directly to the wrist. Users will be able to follow sets and rest periods while logging weights and repetitions during their workouts.

Meanwhile, Google Health Coach can create personalised strength routines based on individual goals. It can also use recovery metrics such as sleep and heart-rate variability to adapt recommendations, potentially suggesting a lighter workout when conditions or recovery levels call for it.

Better Sleep, Smarter Recovery
The Pixel Watch 5 introduces 15% more accurate sleep-stage detection, along with bedtime automations that can pause audiobooks when you fall asleep, and a dedicated bedtime watch face.

Its Smart Wake feature monitors movement and heart rate during the 30 minutes before an alarm, identifying lighter periods of sleep to wake you more gently before your scheduled alarm time.

Health Guardian: A New Layer of Safety
Google is expanding its Health Guardian capabilities with a new breathing emergency detection feature. Using multiple sensors, including PPG, accelerometer and barometer data, combined with on-device AI, the watch can monitor for severe and persistent drops in oxygen saturation.

If a breathing emergency is detected and the wearer is unresponsive, Pixel Watch 5 can automatically contact emergency services and transmit their location. The feature will launch first in Europe.

Long-Term Health Trends
Beyond emergency detection, Google is introducing three new monthly health trend summaries covering blood pressure, sleep breathing quality and insulin resistance.

Powered by Google’s Health Foundation Models, these features are designed to identify subtle changes over time and provide a broader picture of cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic health. The first detailed summary arrives after one month of wear, with the monthly reports eventually expanding across Google’s wearable portfolio.

Iconic Design, Brighter Display
The Pixel Watch 5 combines its health and AI capabilities with a 3,000-nit domed Actua 360 display, 11 new glanceable complication styles and two new watch faces. Generative watch faces also let users create designs that better reflect their personal style.

Battery life reaches up to 30 hours on the 41mm model and 40 hours on the 45mm model, with fast charging and a repairable architecture. New colours include Fog, Canyon and Olive, while a Stephen Curry Special Edition brings an exclusive performance loop band to the 45mm model.

Pricing and Availability
The Google Pixel Watch 5 is priced at SGD 569 for the 41mm model and SGD 599 for the 45mm model in Singapore. Pre-orders are currently open, and official retail availability begins on August 20, 2026
