IWC Schaffhausen and Warner Bros. Pictures Unveil Aquatimer Watches for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”

In a groundbreaking collaboration, IWC Schaffhausen has joined forces with Warner Bros. Pictures for the upcoming feature film “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” Celebrating this partnership, IWC has launched the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month watch, directly inspired by the red and blue glowing prop watches used in the highly-anticipated sequel. Limited to 25 pieces each, these two versions of the diver’s watch are a testament to IWC’s innovative spirit and the fantastical world of Aquaman.

A Dive into the Depths of Design and Technology
The Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month comes in two distinct versions, each featuring a 49-millimeter Ceratanium case, a black dial, and a black rubber strap. The first version (Ref. IW379405) glows in red Super-LumiNova® on the dial, hands, and inner rotating bezel, while the second (Ref. IW379406) shines in blue. These colours are a direct homage to the glowing watches worn by the film’s characters, Black Manta and Dr Stephen Shin.

Super-LumiNova is a high-tech ceramic compound mixed with luminous pigments, acting like a light storage battery. It absorbs light energy and emits it as visible light in the dark or underwater, ensuring optimal readability in any condition. This advanced technology is a fitting match for the film’s high-tech, underwater universe.

Ceratanium is a unique blend of titanium’s lightness and structural integrity with the hardness and scratch resistance of ceramic. This special titanium alloy is machined, hand-finished, and then fired at high temperatures to achieve its ceramic-like properties and distinctive colour.

Digital Displays: A Leap in Perpetual Calendar Design
The Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is a marvel of mechanical programming. It automatically recognizes different month lengths and leap years, displaying the date and month in a clear, digital format.

Powered by the IWC-manufactured 89802 calibre, the watch offers a chronograph function and a power reserve of 68 hours. This calibre is visible through the sapphire crystal back, revealing the blackened component.

IWC SafeDive System: Ensuring Diver Safety
The Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month features IWC’s SafeDive system, combining the legibility of an inner bezel with the ease of use of an external rotating bezel. This system guarantees diver safety by preventing unintentional changes in dive time.

The Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is available through selected IWC boutiques.

The IWC Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is retailing at $89,000.00.
