With the rising humidity at home, it was time to head out to work. Instead of being stuck at home taking calls and working, I thought about relocating my workspace to cafes this week. Cafes do bring along a different working environment and it was exciting to change the ambience. Accompanying me this week are the Jabra Evolve2 buds, Jabra’s first earbuds launch of the well-loved professional-focused Evolve lineup.
Headphones can sometimes be bulky and heavy. Jabra recognised these worries and decided to compact key features that professionals need into a lightweight yet robust set of earbuds. The Jabra Evolve2 Buds are truly wireless earbuds designed specifically for professionals working remotely or on the go. With Adjustable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology, they minimize distractions and provide a personalized listening experience. The buds offer crystal-clear conversations through Jabra MultiSensor Voice technology, blocking out surrounding noise for enhanced call quality. They also provide an extensive wireless range, certified compatibility with virtual meeting platforms, long battery life, and a comfortable, discreet design, making them a reliable choice for professionals seeking flexibility and productivity in their work environments.
Contrary to regular earbuds that are usually meant for entertainment, these Evolve2 Buds are mainly catered for remote or hybrid professionals that regularly have virtual conferences or on-the-go work calls. So I put it to the test. I travelled to Raffles Place, one of the most bustling areas for professionals, selected my workplace for the day – Tanamera Coffee and tested the Evolve2 Buds out.
My first impressions were that these are slightly larger than regular earbud cases but much more convenient as opposed to headphones. That’s because the case comes with a Bluetooth USB-C dongle. Also, the earbuds are durable and can be used for up to 5 hours of talk time and a total of 33 hours of battery life, thanks to the charging case. Aside from the case, the buds came with different-sized earbuds and were well-fitted with the curves of my ear. Fun fact – Jabra used their database of 62,000 ears to create earbuds that fit like it was customised.
When taking calls both on my laptop and my phone, it was impressive how the Evolve2 buds could easily connect to both devices with the help of the USB-C dongle and Bluetooth functionalities. It was impressive to experience how smoothly the earbuds were able to switch between devices at ease. In my opinion, it’s super helpful especially when there’s back to back meetings through different mediums (GMeets, Phone Call) and you don’t need to switch your earbuds or remove them to take a call. Also, the buds offer a wireless range of up to 20 meters, so if you are trying to get coffee from the pantry, you can breathe a sigh of relief as you won’t be disconnected.
On top of that, when taking calls on my laptop or phone, my teammates said that my voice was really clear despite my being in a bustling cafe. This is attributed to Jabra’s MultiSensor Voice Technology which uses advanced algorithms, bone conduction sensors, and four microphones to block surrounding noise to ensure high-quality conversations, making it easier for me to be heard clearly in virtual meetings.
Also, while working with these earbuds, the True Wireless and Active Noise Cancellation(ANC) features were amazing in blocking out the environmental sounds and it allowed me to focus on the article that I was writing. A cool feature that is much needed and well appreciated is that the Jabra Evolve2 buds are certified for the main virtual communication tools like Google Meets, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. This enables better connection to these calls and reduces the possibility of poor audio quality.
Overall, the Jabra Evolve2 Buds are a much-needed addition to any hybrid or remote professionals that are always on the go and want to travel light. Its ANC, and voice technology combined with its connectivity makes it an ideal choice for me and maybe you too.
