When I look for earbuds, I look for one that is reliable and high-quality. Personally, I use my earbuds the most when I am exercising and listening to music, as well as when I am on Zoom meetings at work. I want a pair that gives me confidence in doing my day-to-day activities and routines!
Aesthetic and functional, I am pleased with how well these earbuds look and fit my ear. They sure do feel as good as they look. They’re also comfortable in my ears, even for extended periods of usage.
Be it at school or work, being able to concentrate fully for long periods of time is crucial for my productivity and efficiency. With the Jabra Elite 5, I was able to fully concentrate thanks to its Innovative Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The Hybrid ANC cancels noise from inside and outside the ear. Because of this, the ANC effectiveness is less dependent on how you place the earbuds in your ears and provides more consistent noise cancelling over a wider frequency range.
When my friends call for me, I am still able to hear what they are saying without removing my earbuds with their Intuitive HearThrough technology. Furthermore, when I am switching between devices such as my phone and laptop, I do not have to disconnect the Elite 5 from either device. It’s Bluetooth Multipoint keeps me connected to two devices at once. This makes it extremely convenient and makes my workflow seamless.
The weather in Singapore these days is very very unpredictable, and erratic. However, even in rainy or windy conditions, conversations (and my workout) still must go on. When I was outdoors and calling my sister, she immediately picked up on the clarity of my voice during the call despite the strong winds. I realised that Jabra Elite 5’s 6-microphone call technology, which includes outdoor and internal microphones, amplifies my voice. Additionally, the Jabra Elite 5 is IP55-rated dust and water-resistant, making it perfect for being outdoors!
As a heavy music listener, I enjoy a pair of earbuds that allows EQ customisation. I love that with their Jabra Sound+ app, I am able to curate my sounds just as how I like it, with a little heavier bass. I turned on the “Bass Boost” toggle on the app. Although the app did take me some time to get used to it, once I got the hang of it, it was easy. Its powerful 6mm speakers deliver goosebump-inducing, heart-racing, soaring sound. Listening to ‘Starboy’ by Weeknd was an elevated experience.
These earbuds also make life easier. The Jabra Elite 5 features a Spotify Tap playback, where you can have all your music at your fingertips, with just a tap. Additionally, it supports the use of voice assistants and allows pairing within seconds with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. I was able to enjoy listening on these earbuds for up to 7 hours, and up to 28 hours with the charging case. In any case, when the battery dies, 10 minutes of fast charge gives 1 hour of playback which is very useful for someone like me who always forgets to charge her earbuds before leaving home.
Overall, I feel that although the Jabra Elite 5 is almost similar to other Jabra earbuds, it does have its own distinctive features such as the Innovative Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. The Jabra Elite 5 is available in all authorised retailers including Jabra’s official store in Lazada and Shopee, with an MSRP of $228.
