Go wire-free and enjoy your tunes with the Belkin Soundform Elite Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger
I’m sure many of you have the same issue I’ve been facing recently, as with the number of personal devices increasing, my bedside table has turned into a nest of cables for charging my smartphone, smartwatch, earphones and tablet, not to mention a Google Nest hub that I use to monitor my Google Home devices, wake me up every morning with an alarm, and stream Spotify – Chester Tan’s piano playlist is my essential music to lull myself to sleep.
With the Belkin Soundform Elite Devialet Acoustics Hi-Fi Smart Speaker With Wireless Charger, my tabletop clutter has been cleared up a bit, as the Soundform Elite has replaced both my smart speaker and wireless charger, and it is quite an interesting design, in black or white with a grey cloth mesh, that somewhat resembling a hard-boiled egg standing on its base with the top one/third removed, this is a deliberate design, with the top area angled for smartphone charging – and accommodates my Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max with no issue. A small charging light on the right indicates when your smartphone is charging, and with 10W wireless charging capacity, it’s quite fast, though I usually use it at night, before bed, by placing my smartphone, and when I wake up seven hours later it’s always fully charged.
Located to the front of the charging base on this smart speaker is a range of simple touch controls for Bluetooth pairing, volume control, and microphone mute. Setting up the Soundform in Singapore is quite simple, just add it in Google Home, and while doing so, I created a speaker group for my bedroom that included the Soundform Elite as well as my LG XBoom AI ThinQ WK7 speaker, to really pump up the beat.
If you haven’t figured out by the Devialet logo on the charging pad, the speaker acoustics have been tuned by Devialet, who know a thing or two about generating big sound from small speakers, and thanks to Devialet incorporating two of its patented technologies into the Soundform Elite, so that this relatively small speaker is not only able to play at pretty loud volumes, with well-defined bass, though the midrange is a little lacking.
The first Devialet tech is Speaker Active Matching (SAM) processing, where the speakers used in the Soundform Elite have been measured by Devialet in over sixty different parameters so that the Digital Signal Processor in the speaker is able to reproduce a specific sound accurately and clearly, without the audio ‘muddle’ you might hear from a small speaker trying to reproduce deep bass. The second technology is Devialet’s ‘Push-Push’ dual woofer configuration, with two woofers positioned so that their vibrations cancel each other out, so the Soundform Elite remains still on your table.
Playing music on the Soundform Elite is as simple as saying “Hey Google, play Spotify”, though you can easily Bluetooth sync the speaker to your smartphone if you want to play tunes from your smartphone’s music library. In general, music sounds better over WiFi, especially if you’re using a premium music service, and within the same WiFi network, you can use Spotify on your smartphone, tablet or PC to control your music, and of course, as a Smart speaker, you can ask the Soundform Elite to set an alarm, tell you the current weather or execute Order 66.
The Belkin Soundform Elite Devialet Acoustics Hi-Fi Smart Speaker With Wireless Charger is available online at Gain City, Harvey Norman, Headphones.sg and Lazada.
