Dell Pro Essential 14 and 15 Laptops: Business-Ready Productivity to Small Businesses

Dell Technologies has introduced the new Dell Pro Essential 14 and Dell Pro Essential 15, two laptops designed with the needs of small businesses in mind.

Built to balance portability, performance, security and connectivity, the new Pro Essential models are aimed at growing teams that need reliable PCs without the complexity often associated with enterprise hardware.

Thinner and lighter for work on the go
For professionals who regularly move between offices, meetings and customer sites, portability is a key part of the experience.

The new Dell Pro Essential 14 and 15 are 11% thinner and between 9% and 16% lighter than their predecessors, making them easier to carry throughout the workday.

They are available in Celestial Blue and Platinum Silver, giving the laptops a more modern look while still fitting into a professional environment.

Designed to make everyday work easier
Dell has also made several changes to the keyboard and touchpad to improve day-to-day productivity.

The refreshed keyboard features dedicated shortcut keys, including a microphone mute key with an LED indicator, a dictation key for voice input and a snapshot key for quickly capturing the screen.

The touchpad is also 6% larger than the previous generation, providing more space for navigation, multitasking and gestures.
For the display, buyers can choose between FHD+ panels rated at up to 400 nits or 2.5K panels reaching up to 500 nits. Both use a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing additional vertical space that can be useful when working with documents, spreadsheets and webpages.

Video conferencing is supported by either an HD or FHD IR camera, depending on configuration, alongside dual microphones designed to provide clearer audio during meetings.

Performance and connectivity
The Dell Pro Essential 14 and 15 can be configured with either Intel Core Series 3 or AMD Ryzen 200 Series processors, with up to 64GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage.

That combination gives small business users enough headroom for everyday productivity tasks, multitasking and working with multiple applications at once.

Connectivity is equally flexible. Both models offer two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack, while Intel configurations also include an RJ-45 Ethernet port for users who prefer a wired connection.

Security built in
Security is another area where Dell has focused on the needs of business users.

Both laptops include a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), biometric authentication through an optional fingerprint reader or FHD IR camera, a mechanical camera shutter and a security lock slot.

The laptops have also been tested to MIL-STD-810H standards, giving them additional durability for the demands of everyday business use.

On the sustainability front, the Dell Pro Essential 14 and 15 carry EPEAT Gold Climate+ and ENERGY STAR certifications. Their packaging is also made using 100% recycled or renewable materials.

Built for growing businesses
Small businesses often don’t have dedicated IT departments or large procurement teams, so having technology that is straightforward, reliable and secure can make a significant difference.

The Dell Pro Essential range takes a relatively simple approach: provide the performance needed for everyday work, useful productivity features, modern connectivity and business-focused security, without adding unnecessary complexity.

As Zach Noskey, Head of Product for Commercial Notebooks & Education at Dell Technologies, puts it, the laptops are designed around the reality of people “moving between places, switching between tasks and needing a PC that works reliably and securely wherever work takes them.”
