Sylvain Pinaud Unveils The Tourbillon Where Precision Meets Pure Craftsmanship

Independent watchmaker Sylvain Pinaud has introduced his latest creation, The Tourbillon, a timepiece that reflects a deeply personal pursuit of balance, precision and traditional craftsmanship. Entirely conceived, developed and finished within his own atelier, the watch embodies a singular vision where artistry and chronometry coexist in perfect harmony.

Building on the design language of his earlier Origine model, the Tourbillon presents a more pronounced mechanical expression while maintaining a sense of clarity and restraint. The dial showcases a refined asymmetry, where black-polished steel components contrast against hand-grained surfaces, creating a subtle yet dynamic play of light. Careful attention to proportions ensures a seamless relationship between the case and dial, resulting in a fluid, neoclassical silhouette. At its centre, the tourbillon acts as a visual anchor, introducing motion without disrupting the overall balance.

At the core of the watch lies a fully in-house movement, developed according to traditional horological principles. Crafted from materials such as nickel silver, titanium and gold in their pure or minimally treated forms, each component is elevated through extensive manual finishing. The 30-second tourbillon, housed in a lightweight titanium cage, is engineered to optimise efficiency while maintaining a precise balance between inertia and frequency.

A double-barrel construction ensures consistent energy delivery and a longer power reserve, while a zero-reset seconds mechanism allows for exact time-setting, reinforcing the watch’s focus on chronometric performance.

The level of finishing reflects the highest standards of traditional watchmaking. Bridges are meticulously bevelled with sharp inner angles, steel components are polished to a mirror-like black finish, and surfaces alternate between fine graining and satin textures.

On the reverse side, the large barrel bridge is designed as a sculptural feature, with hand-executed anglage showcasing the depth of craftsmanship behind each piece. Every detail, whether visible or hidden, is treated with equal care, reinforcing the movement as both a functional mechanism and a work of art.

Produced in highly limited numbers, the Tourbillon is offered in different material executions, each expressing the same core philosophy of precision, balance and uncompromising craftsmanship.

More than a timekeeping instrument, Sylvain Pinaud’s The Tourbillon stands as a reflection of the human touch behind fine watchmaking, where every detail is shaped by intention, expertise and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

The Sylvain Pinaud Tourbillon is priced at SGD 314,000 with tax.
