Louis Erard is expanding its Noirmont Métiers d’Art collection with the Le Régulateur Esprit Flinqué, a fresh interpretation of the brand’s signature regulator display that emphasises light, texture and movement.
The collection comprises two colour variations in blue and grey. The blue model originally made its debut in December 2025 as a special collaboration with Worn & Wound, and now joins the permanent Métiers d’Art family alongside the newly introduced grey edition.
A Different Take on the Regulator
The regulator has become one of Louis Erard’s most recognisable designs, separating the hours, minutes and seconds rather than displaying them conventionally from a single central axis. With Esprit Flinqué, the brand gives that familiar arrangement a more architectural character.
For the first time on a Louis Erard watch, the hours and seconds are displayed using skeletonised rotating discs. Their openworked construction brings additional movement and visual depth to the dial while retaining the clear hierarchy associated with a regulator display.
At the centre of attention is the minute display, presented in either deep blue or grey. Fine fluted sunray lines extend across the surface, catching and reflecting light differently as the wrist moves. Louis Erard’s distinctive fir tree-shaped minute hand sits prominently above the pattern.
The lighter surrounding areas provide contrast, allowing the appearance of the dial to shift subtly according to lighting and viewing angle. Rather than relying on elaborate decoration alone, Esprit Flinqué uses the interaction between pattern, reflections and moving components to create its character.
Blue or Monochrome Grey
Both versions are housed in a 39mm polished stainless-steel case, giving the watches relatively restrained proportions that allow the dial to remain the focal point.
The blue Esprit Flinqué is paired with a beige calf-leather strap, creating a warmer contrast against the rich blue dial. The grey edition takes a more monochromatic approach, extending its muted tones from the dial to the strap for a clean, understated appearance.
Each colourway will be produced in a limited edition of just 99 pieces.
Expanding Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art
Esprit Flinqué also represents another step in Louis Erard’s ongoing exploration of traditional decorative crafts.
The brand’s recent Métiers d’Art creations have explored techniques including hand engraving, grand feu enamel and fil d’or, reinterpreting traditional savoir-faire through a more contemporary design language and typically in small production runs.
Le Régulateur Esprit Flinqué approaches the idea from another direction. Instead of making a traditional decorative technique the sole focus, the watches use structure, surface treatment, light and movement to establish a new visual identity.
The result is unmistakably a Louis Erard regulator, but one that feels more dynamic.
