SHARP has unveiled the AQUOS wish5s, a safety-first smartphone designed to make everyday use simpler, smarter, and more secure. Blending a refined metallic look with practical features, the device introduces new Navy and Copper finishes, alongside AI-powered imaging upgrades like Shadow Removal and immersive 8-way audio. Built with durability, long battery life, and integrated SOS safety features at its core, the wish5s continues SHARP’s focus on reliability and user peace of mind.
The AQUOS wish5s enhance everyday photography with intelligent AI capabilities that automatically detect scenes and optimise settings. Its Shadow Removal feature reduces unwanted shadows in close-up shots, perfect for food photography, while also cutting down reflections when shooting through glass. Equipped with a 50.1MP rear camera powered by SHARP’s ProPix Lite engine, the phone delivers crisp, vibrant images across portraits and low-light scenes. Complementing this is 8-way audio technology, which creates a more immersive listening experience by simulating multi-directional sound, whether you’re using wireless earbuds or over-ear headphones.
Design-wise, the wish5s builds on its predecessor with a sleek metallic finish while retaining the signature “free curve” form developed under Miyake Design’s supervision. The result is a device that feels comfortable in the hand while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic suited for daily use.
Durability remains a key highlight. The AQUOS wish5s carries forward features from the previous model, including a vibration-activated SOS alert that can trigger an alarm and send your location to pre-set contacts, even when the phone is inside a bag. It also includes an AI-powered call assistant that helps detect and block suspicious calls. With IPX9 waterproofing, the device can withstand high-pressure water and temperatures up to 80°C, while compliance with MIL-STD-810H standards ensures resistance against dust, shocks, and drops on concrete.
On the performance front, the smartphone features a 6.6-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,000mAh battery that comfortably supports all-day use. SHARP’s Intelligent Charge function helps extend battery lifespan by optimising charging habits over time. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, the device comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, with support for microSD expansion up to 2TB, offering both speed and flexibility for modern users.
