URWERK UR-101 T-Rex: A Primal Roar in Bronze

The T-Rex is back, and it’s meaner, bolder, and more tactile than ever. The latest mutation in URWERK’s prehistoric-inspired line-up is the UR-101 T-Rex. It’s a creature of raw presence and living bronze, born to be touched, admired, and respected.

Wrapped in a scaly bronze carapace and built with primal intention, this 100-piece limited-edition beast is the third model to don the T-Rex moniker—following the footsteps of the UR-105 and UR-100 before it. But the UR-101 takes it further, combining visceral texture with a futuristic form that’s part dinosaur, part Millennium Falcon.

The Power of Living Bronze
At the heart of the T-Rex’s allure is its case—a guilloché masterpiece in bronze that’s alive in every sense. “Bronze is a fabulous metal,” shares Martin Frei, URWERK’s co-founder and artistic director. “It reacts to the touch. It re-oxidises, heals its scars, and evolves with time—just like skin.” This ever-changing patina gives each piece a unique fingerprint, deepening its connection with the wearer.

The signature organic guilloché pattern, usually reserved for dials, is now fully unleashed—covering the crown, lugs, and flanks in engraved grooves that beg to be explored by hand. Every angle, curve, and scale is deliberate and dynamic.

Beneath the Skin
But the UR-101 T-Rex isn’t just about looks. Inside beats the UR-1.01V calibre, a satellite time display inspired by URWERK’s roots.

This reinterpretation of the original UR-101 revives the brand’s signature “wandering hours” mechanism, rotating across a 180-degree arc via a weighty, snailed carousel.

A Mash-Up of Eras and Icons
The UR-101 T-Rex is a wild collision of timelines where prehistoric beasts meet sci-fi legends and traditional horology fuses with underground tremendous.

URWERK’s DNA has always been about contrast and complexity: Ur (the ancient Sumerian city), Urzeit (prehistory), Uhr (German for clock), and Werk (movement) all come together to form a brand that makes time roar.

The URWERK UR-101 T-Rex is limited to 100 pieces worldwide and retails at SGD 62,000 (incl. tax).
