In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Watches of Switzerland, renowned German watchmaker NOMOS Glashüttehas launched a special limited edition of its Metro Date Power Reserve.
Time for Pacific Contrasts
The NOMOS Glashütte Metro Date Power Reserve is the first of its kind from the brand and showcases a vibrant jungle green dial, symbolizing the lush life of tropical rainforests. The dial features a distinct minute marker that stands out against this special shade of green. In contrast, a red dot at noon beneath the red “60” of the minute marker serves as a congratulatory nod to Watches of Switzerland on its 60-year milestone in the Pacific region.
Encased in a 37mm stainless steel case with NOMOS’s signature wire lugs, the watch is powered by the hand-wound DUW 4401 calibre equipped with the NOMOS swing system. The power reserve indicator offers an approximate 42-hour lifespan, while an innovative date mechanism encircles the movement, positioning the date window at 6 o’clock for a streamlined, minimalist aesthetic. A bright yellow hand on the sub-seconds dial contrasts strikingly against the green backdrop, providing a vivid pop of colour.
The watch’s mechanism is polished with the Glashütte sunburst technique on the ratchet and crown wheels, demonstrating NOMOS’s attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Protected by a domed sapphire crystal on both the front and case back, the Metro’s stainless-steel case is engraved with the inscription: “Limited Edition Metro Watches of Switzerland 60th Anniversary – WOS Nr./60”. Only 60 pieces of this limited edition will be made, making it a true collector’s item.
