Fujifilm Announces Renewed “instax mini LiPlay” with Stylish New Colors and Enhanced Features

FUJIFILM announced the release of the renewed “instax mini LiPlay™” (mini LiPlay), a hybrid instant camera in the popular instax™ series. The updated model, available in three new colours—MATCHA GREEN, MISTY WHITE, and DEEP BRONZE—will be released on July 19th, 2024, in Japan. This renewal aligns with current trends, offering both style and convenience, including a new USB Type-C charging port and firmware updates via a smartphone app.

The new “Instax mini LiPlay™” maintains its sleek, compact design while introducing three fresh colours to match modern trends. The MATCHA GREEN option reflects global fashion trends, MISTY WHITE offers a versatile and neutral choice, and DEEP BRONZE provides a unisex, calming hue. Each lightweight, ergonomic camera comes with a matching camera case for added convenience and style.

Enhanced Features for Improved Usability
In addition to the new colours, the mini LiPlay now includes a USB Type-C charging port, making it more convenient for users to charge their devices. Firmware updates have also been simplified: users can now easily update their camera’s firmware by connecting it to a smartphone app, eliminating the need for downloading from a website and saving it to a micro-SD card.

The renewed mini LiPlay retains its popular features such as the “SOUND” function, which allows users to record up to 10 seconds of audio. This audio data is converted into a QR code that is printed on the photo, providing a unique way to capture and share memories. The “DIRECT PRINT” function enables users to print images captured on their smartphones, further expanding the camera’s versatility.

Expanded Creative Options
The mini LiPlay offers 13 types of design frames and 6 filters on the camera itself, with over 60 additional design frames available through the smartphone app. These features allow users to add creative effects to their photos easily.

The “SAVE PRINTED IMAGES” function on the app lets users save printed photos as Instax-framed images on their smartphones, making it easy to share their creations on social media.

Broadening the Instax Experience
Since its original launch in 1998, the instax™ series has continually embraced evolving trends and technologies.

The mini LiPlay, first released in 2019, is a highly regarded sound recording model that has gained popularity worldwide due to its functionality and design. This hybrid instant camera uses card-sized instax™ mini film, allowing users to view images on the LCD monitor and select their favourites to print.

Availability and Pricing
The renewed “Instax mini LiPlay™” will be available now. It retails at $269, and the camera will be available in MATCHA GREEN, MISTY WHITE, and DEEP BRONZE.
