American Ban on Huawei Partially Lifted While Local Retailers Back Huawei with 2-year Assurance Warranty

Huawei is back in the news, but it is all positive.

The latest report from the Tokyo G20 meeting is that the U.S. President has relaxed part of his ban on American companies providing commercial goods and services to Huawei. The announcement was not unexpected as American businesses such as Alphabet (Google), Qualcomm, Broadcom, Intel, Nvidia, Seagate, Microsoft and Oracle stood to lose up to US$11 Billion in business.

This means that Huawei can continue to purchase components from its American hardware suppliers and access the latest security updates and software from Google. Huawei in fact recently announced that they were working with Google for the upcoming Android Q update.

Just before the G20 announcement, two major consumer electronic retail chains in Singapore also launched a ‘money back’ warranty assurance scheme for Huawei smartphones.

Over in the UK, Huawei has launched a ‘Huawei Answers’ microsite to address a host of consumer questions, including if their devices can be upgradeable to Android Q!

And contrary to what you’d expect, Huawei has already shipped more smartphones this year than 2018. The Huawei P30 Pro also won the ‘Best Smartphone’ category of the European Hardware Awards 2019.

One of the most common questions we’ve been asked recently is on Google’s support of Huawei’s P30 series, which we did point out in a previous article is confirmed for the life of the device

But if you feel that you need something more substantial to how about a ‘Money back if Google pulls Mobile Services’ deal from Challenger Singapore, Hachi.tech or Courts Singapore?

Both mega IT retailers are now running an assurance program for customers who are thinking of purchasing any Huawei smartphone or tablet device from their online or retail stores.

From 22nd June to 31 August 2019, any Huawei smartphone purchased will be backed up with a 2-year Assurance Warranty that includes protection if Google Mobile Services (Maps, Gmail, Chrome, Play, Gallery, YouTube) as well as FaceBook, Instagram and WhatsApp stop working during the warranty period!

This means that both retailers are so positive that nothing will happen to your Huawei smartphone regarding Google Mobile services and other popular apps that in the unlikely event that these apps are pulled from Huawei phones, you’ll get a full refund of your purchase on return of your device!
