Samsung is expanding the Galaxy S26 family with the new Galaxy S26 FE, a more accessible flagship-style smartphone that focuses on camera upgrades, Galaxy AI and long-term software support.
The Galaxy S26 FE is also the first model in the Galaxy S26 line-up to launch with One UI 9, giving users Samsung’s latest interface and AI features straight out of the box.
Available in Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio, the new Fan Edition model combines a slim design with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 4,900mAh battery and a triple-camera system aimed at everyday photography and video.
A More Flexible Camera System
Samsung has placed particular emphasis on the camera experience, introducing several features previously associated with its higher-end Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy S26 FE supports 3x optical zoom and features an upgraded 12MP front camera, which is designed to capture more within the frame for selfies and group shots.
Samsung’s Nightography processing also returns, helping improve brightness and detail in low-light scenes.
For video, the phone includes Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, which is designed to keep footage smoother and more level while recording movement.
Another notable addition is My FanCam, a feature first introduced on Samsung’s latest foldables. Users can select a subject and have the phone automatically track and keep that person centred in the frame, reducing the need to manually reframe footage later.
Editing is also becoming more AI-driven. Photo Assist allows users to describe changes in natural language, including adjusting lighting, adding elements or reconstructing missing portions of an image. Edits can be reviewed step by step and reversed where necessary.
Samsung is also bringing Gemini Omni into the creative workflow, allowing users to turn photos and video clips from their Gallery into edited videos complete with transitions, music and effects.
One UI 9 Pushes Galaxy AI Further
The Galaxy S26 FE launches with One UI 9, which introduces more context-aware Galaxy AI features designed to anticipate what users may need throughout the day.
An updated Now Brief provides personalised information through cards for areas such as weather and wellness. Users can also create their own Custom Cards using prompts, allowing the briefing experience to be tailored more closely to their routines.
Samsung is also expanding the use of Gemini for multi-step tasks. A single request can trigger several actions across supported functions, reducing the number of steps needed to search, organise, create or communicate.
Circle to Search with Google and Gemini Live have also been enhanced to recognise multiple objects within an image at the same time. This allows users to search for several products, places or other items without having to identify them individually.
A 120Hz AMOLED Display and Bigger Battery
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, aimed at delivering smoother scrolling, gaming and video playback.
Samsung says the screen also benefits from improvements in brightness, resolution and clarity.
Power comes from a 4,900mAh battery, paired with 45W fast charging. The larger battery is intended to provide all-day use while maintaining the slim styling associated with the broader Galaxy S26 range.
Samsung has also upgraded Smart Switch to make moving from another Android phone or an iPhone easier. Data such as passwords, passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM information can be transferred wirelessly after scanning a QR code, without requiring additional apps.
Seven Years of Software Support
Long-term support is another major selling point.
Samsung says the Galaxy S26 FE will receive seven generations of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates, extending the usable software life of the device well beyond a typical upgrade cycle.
Buyers will also receive a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which includes access to expanded Google AI capabilities and 5TB of cloud storage.
Samsung Care+ is available separately for users who want additional protection for the device.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is available in Singapore in Graphite, Blueberry and Pistachio.
It is priced at S$1,018 for the 8GB+128GB model, S$1,168 for 8GB+256GB, and S$1,468 for 8GB+512GB.
Sales begin from 28 August 2026 at Samsung Experience Stores and selected consumer electronics and IT retailers.
Availability through the Samsung Online Store, Samsung Shop App and local telcos begins from 4 September.
Launch promotions run until 9 October, with Samsung offering savings of up to S$350 on eligible purchases. Buyers can also receive discounts on selected Galaxy Watch, Buds and Tab devices as well as Galaxy S26 FE accessories.
