Sennheiser has officially introduced the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless, the latest generation of its flagship wireless headphones, bringing meaningful upgrades to one of the brand’s most popular audio line-ups. While retaining the signature sound quality and impressive battery life that have made the MOMENTUM series a favourite among audiophiles, the new model introduces enhanced active noise cancellation (ANC), immersive spatial audio, future-ready connectivity and a user-replaceable battery designed to extend the headphones’ lifespan.
According to Sennheiser, the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless was developed to refine the overall listening experience without departing from the winning formula of its predecessor. The result is a pair of premium headphones that combines high-fidelity sound with greater comfort, smarter features and a stronger focus on sustainability.

At the heart of the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is the same acclaimed 42mm transducer found in the previous generation, manufactured at Sennheiser’s facility in Tullamore, Ireland. Inspired by the legendary HD 600-series headphones, the drivers are tuned to deliver detailed, full-bodied sound with powerful bass. This latest version also adds Hi-Res Audio certification and Snapdragon Sound support, enabling wireless playback of up to aptX Lossless quality for compatible devices. Through the updated Smart Control Plus app, users can further personalise the listening experience with an 8-band equaliser, custom presets and Sennheiser’s intelligent Sound Personalisation feature.
One of the biggest upgrades comes in the form of significantly improved active noise cancellation. Sennheiser says the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is now up to three times more effective at reducing distracting voices compared to its predecessor. This improvement is made possible by doubling the number of microphones dedicated to ANC and transparency mode, with four microphones on each earcup helping to minimise ambient sounds such as aircraft cabin noise while also delivering clearer voice quality during phone calls.

Immersive listening also receives a boost with spatial audio and head-tracking technology, creating a more realistic three-dimensional soundstage. Early adopters will also receive a firmware update that enables Dolby Atmos with head-tracking when listening to compatible content, while the headphones ship with Bluetooth 5.4 and are already engineered to support Bluetooth 6.0 through a future software update, ensuring they remain ready for upcoming wireless standards.

Battery life continues to be one of the MOMENTUM series’ strongest selling points. The new headphones offer up to 57 hours of playback with active noise cancellation enabled, alongside fast charging for users constantly on the move. More importantly, Sennheiser has introduced a user-replaceable 700mAh battery, allowing owners to easily replace the battery themselves using only a standard Phillips-head screwdriver. The move not only extends the product’s usable lifespan but also reflects the company’s growing commitment to sustainability.

Environmental considerations extend beyond the battery. The included carrying case is now 20% smaller, helping reduce shipping volume, while the retail packaging has been redesigned to eliminate plastic wherever possible. Inside the box, users will also find a USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable for wired listening, making the headphones equally suitable for flights, laptops and other devices without Bluetooth connectivity.
The MOMENTUM 5 Wireless will be available in Black, White and Denim colour options, blending understated styling with premium finishes suitable for both work and leisure. The headphones will retail for S$599. Find out more here.
