Welcome to the May 2026 Edition of NXT. This issue’s main feature is all about how travel in 2026 is becoming less about carrying more gear and more about building a smarter system around the journey. What matters now is not just the destination, but how seamlessly everything works once you leave home.

Payments, eSIMs, planning tools, cameras, earbuds and power banks are all evolving into a connected travel toolkit designed to remove friction at every stage. That matters because the best travel tech is no longer about flashy gadgets for their own sake. It is about moving lighter, making faster decisions, staying connected, capturing more, and turning the entire trip into something smoother, calmer, and far better designed.

Under the Gear section, we have featured Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo Concept, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14′ Gen 11), Acer Swift AI 16, OPPO Find X9 Ultra, and Apple Airpods Max 2.

Our NXT Clarissa has tested out the Apple AirTag. Apple’s AirTag quietly became one of the most useful accessories in the Apple ecosystem.

Under the Luxury section, we have featured Louis Vuitton’s Escale au Mont Fuji Pocket Watch, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Girard-Perregaux Minute Repeater Flying Bridges, RESSENCE TYPE 9 IKE, TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 Formula 1 Edition, and Leica D-Lux 8.

Over in Test, we went hands-on with three very different takes on everyday smart tech. First up is the Apple iPhone 17e, a value-focused iPhone that still packs an A19 chip and a more generous 256GB starting point. Rounding things out is the Xiaomi Pad 8, a slim productivity tablet with PC-style multitasking ambition.
For NXT Big Thing, we look ahead to a future where travel tech becomes so seamless it almost disappears — a world where AI assistants build smarter itineraries before you even book, biometrics replace airport friction, real-time translation makes foreign cities feel instantly more navigable, and hotels adapt around you with near-invisible intelligence.

Lastly, stay tuned for the upcoming NXT / Lenovo FIFA World Cup 2026 issue, which we are preparing to present to you exciting Lenovo and FIFA World Cup 2026 content in the NXT JUNE ISSUE – alongside a contest you don’t want to miss!
