Breguet has been awarded the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the most coveted distinction in contemporary watchmaking. The honour recognises the Classique Souscription 2025 as the best overall timepiece across all categories – a true Best in Show and a symbol of excellence for the industry as a whole.
A landmark moment in Breguet’s 250th anniversary
The Classique Souscription 2025 holds special significance as the first watch unveiled to mark Breguet’s 250th anniversary. The timepiece pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Abraham-Louis Breguet, whose innovations continue to shape modern horology.

Inspired by the historic Souscription watch conceived in the late 18th century, the Classique Souscription 2025 embodies a philosophy of clarity and restraint. Its apparent simplicity reflects Breguet’s original vision: creating watches that are intuitive, legible and technically refined, without unnecessary ornamentation.
A historic pocket watch reimagined for the wrist.
This single-hand wristwatch faithfully translates the spirit of a historic Breguet pocket watch into a contemporary format. The movement architecture draws directly from original Souscription calibres and the tact watch, while the visual language remains rooted in classical Breguet codes.

Details include a satin-brushed case middle, chevé glass, a grand feu enamel dial and a hand-crafted blued steel hand. The discreet secret signature, a hallmark of Breguet’s anti-counterfeiting ingenuity, reinforces the connection to the Maison’s heritage.

Turning the watch over reveals a caseback decorated with the exclusive Quai de l’Horloge guilloché motif, accompanied by an engraving featuring Abraham-Louis Breguet’s own words on the conception of the movement – a poetic reminder of the watchmaker’s philosophy and foresight.
The highest honour in watchmaking
The “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix represents the pinnacle of recognition at the GPHG, celebrating not only technical mastery and aesthetic excellence but also a watch’s ability to embody the values of the entire industry. That the Classique Souscription 2025 received this award underscores Breguet’s unique position as both a guardian of tradition and a living force in modern watchmaking.

Commenting on the achievement, the Maison expressed deep gratitude to its teams, emphasising that the award honours the collective passion, expertise and high standards of those who bring Breguet to life every day. As the brand celebrates 250 years of uninterrupted horological excellence, the distinction stands as a powerful affirmation of its enduring relevance.

With the Classique Souscription 2025, Breguet has shown that true innovation can be timeless – guided by history, refined by craft, and recognised at the very highest level of the watchmaking world.
