FiiO has officially unveiled the JM21 Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player, bringing flagship audio architecture to an entry-level price point. At its core is a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core processor, delivering smoother performance with lower power consumption, paired with Android 13 for a modern, app-friendly experience.
Despite packing serious hardware, the JM21 maintains an impressively slim 13mm aluminium body, weighs just 156g, and features a 4.7-inch HD display, making it an ideal one-handed portable companion for audiophiles on the move.
Sound quality is where the JM21 truly shines. It features a fully balanced audio design built around dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 flagship DACs and dual SGM8262 op-amps, supported by a meticulously engineered segmented power supply and shielded internal partitions to reduce interference. The result is a powerful and clean output of up to 700mW + 700mW via the 4.4mm balanced output, easily driving everything from sensitive IEMs to demanding over-ear headphones. Users can further tailor performance with three gain levels and three independent volume curves, ensuring optimal control across different headphone types.
The JM21 also debuts FiiO’s Proprietary DAPS (Digital Audio Purification System), powered by a 5th-generation FPGA and dual custom femtosecond crystal oscillators with ultra-low phase noise. This setup eliminates global SRC interference, preserving the original sampling rate whether you’re playing local files, streaming from third-party apps like Apple Music, or outputting audio to an external DAC via USB or SPDIF. High-resolution support is extensive, with local decoding up to 384kHz/32bit and DSD256, and USB audio reaching 768kHz/32bit and DSD512.
Designed for all-day listening, the JM21 offers up to 16 hours of battery life (single-ended output on the 4GB+64GB model), alongside fast charging via USB-C. Connectivity is equally versatile, with two-way Bluetooth 5.0 supporting LDAC, aptX HD, LHDC, and more, plus asynchronous USB DAC functionality for use with Windows and macOS systems.
