At the LG Air Solutions event recently, LG Electronics (LG) unveiled the newest air conditioners and air purifiers to highlight its total air care solutions. To emphasize the value of clean air and healthy homes, the event highlights LG’s recently introduced environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant for air conditioners and the LG PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan. The latest developments from the company offer a breath of fresh air to homeowners looking to upgrade their appliances.

The R32: Environmentally Friendly Refrigerant
For its single and multi-split air conditioners in commercial and residential settings, LG has used the industry’s most advanced R32 refrigerant, taking ecological responsibility to a new level. To offer cool air in a more environmentally friendly manner, LG air conditioners feature sophisticated features and cutting-edge product design in addition to the energy-efficient R32 refrigerant.
The R32 refrigerant has 0% ozone depletion potential and a markedly lower global warming potential (GWP) than the more common R410A refrigerant, making it known as being better for Mother Nature’s environment. The R32 is the industry’s gold standard in heat transfer because it efficiently transfers heat and has a higher cooling capacity, requiring less energy to cool indoor environments. The user can thus experience greater electricity cost savings while reducing their carbon footprint. In order to effectively regulate energy usage, LG also created the peak current control technology specifically for its line-up of multi-split household air conditioners. A maximum consumption level can be set by users to cap the overall amount of power used. According to an internal test, usage patterns at 1.9kW and 1.7kW, respectively, compared to the maximum power consumption of 2.5kW, will help save 24% and 32% of energy.
