Breguet Revitalises the Tradition Collection with Contemporary New Models for 2026

Breguet has unveiled a major refresh of its iconic Tradition collection for 2026, introducing a series of new models that blend the Maison’s historic watchmaking identity with a more contemporary visual language. The expanded lineup includes the Tradition 7037 and 7097 with retrograde small seconds displays, the gem-set Tradition 7038, and the dual-time Tradition GMT 7067.

Originally launched in 2005, the Tradition collection has become one of Breguet’s defining modern lines, distinguished by movements displayed prominently on the dial side. Inspired by Abraham-Louis Breguet’s historic “Souscription” and “Tact” watches, the collection exposes bridges, gears and escapements typically hidden beneath the dial, creating a symmetrical mechanical layout that celebrates both technical precision and aesthetic harmony.

For 2026, Breguet introduces several subtle but significant updates across the collection. Traditional Roman numerals give way to Arabic numerals on selected models, Grand Feu enamel dials replace guilloché surfaces, and new movement finishes and rubber straps lend the watches a more modern personality while remaining faithful to the spirit of the founder.

One of the standout additions is the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7037, presented in a 38 mm white gold case with a striking all-blue movement and white Grand Feu enamel dial. The watch embraces minimalist simplicity with only hours, minutes and a retrograde seconds display, allowing the movement architecture to take centre stage.

The movement features finely shotblasted blue bridges, satin-brushed surfaces and a hand-guilloché barrel cover, all individually hand-finished. Breguet also revives its historic Arabic numerals, originally introduced by Abraham-Louis Breguet himself in the late 18th century, reinforcing the connection between the Maison’s heritage and its modern interpretation.

Breguet also introduces the Tradition GMT 7067, a dual-time watch featuring the collection’s first-ever green-gradient Grand Feu enamel dial. The dial transitions gradually from pine green at the centre to deep black at the edges, showcasing the Manufacture’s expertise in enamel craftsmanship.

The GMT complication displays local time on the main dial and home time on a subdial at 8 o’clock, accompanied by a discreet day/night indicator. In a nod to Breguet’s historic “Ottoman watches,” the home-time display is available with either Arabic or Oriental numerals, reviving a bespoke customisation once offered to clients in the Ottoman Empire during the early 1800s.

For collectors seeking a more jewellery-inspired expression, the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7038 combines Haute Horlogerie with gem-setting artistry. The rhodium-plated white gold case features a bezel set with 58 brilliant-cut diamonds and a crown adorned with a watch jewel.

The 7038 also marks the first time Breguet has introduced a black aventurine glass dial within the Tradition collection. Paired with black shotblasted bridges and a satin-finished black fabric strap, the watch delivers a striking monochromatic aesthetic while retaining the line’s signature exposed mechanics.

Meanwhile, the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7097 evolves the collection with a white Grand Feu enamel dial housed in a rose gold case. The contrast between the bright enamel dial, charcoal grey barrel cover and rose-gilt gear train creates a more defined visual separation between the movement components, emphasising the architecture of the calibre itself.

The 7097 also introduces updated finishes across the movement and a new-generation strap, while preserving hallmark Tradition features such as the retrograde seconds display and the pare-chute shock absorber positioned at 4 o’clock.

Across the entire 2026 lineup, Breguet continues to evolve the Tradition collection without compromising its identity. By pairing exposed mechanical artistry with new materials, colours and finishing techniques, the Manufacture demonstrates how historic watchmaking codes can still feel modern more than two centuries after Abraham-Louis Breguet first pioneered them.
