Sony Electronics Inc. has launched its 2023 BRAVIA XR™ TV Lineup, featuring the Cognitive Processor XR™, for an outstanding home entertainment experience. The lineup includes four new models: X95L Mini LED, X90L Full Array LED, and A80L OLED. All the models come equipped with the updated Cognitive Processor XR and provide an immersive experience for watching movies, streaming apps, gaming, and more.
The new models’ key features include the Cognitive Processor XR, which replicates content the way people see and hear, offering better backlight control, increased local dimming zones, increased brightness, and declared blooming. The XR Clear Image in select models further reduces noise and blur in motion, creating scenes that burst with life.
The new models also offer Acoustic Center Sync, which synchronizes the TV’s audio system with select Sony soundbars and AV receivers to reinforce the centre speaker channel for clearer, fuller dialogue, and more immersive sound. The new audio features include the Acoustic Multi-Audio+TM, found in the X95L model, which uses frame tweeters to elevate the sound to match the image on the screen. Meanwhile, the A80L models feature Acoustic Surface Audio+TM with actuators that vibrate to produce sound from the entire screen, perfectly matching what’s playing on the screen.
For gamers, the new BRAVIA XR lineup is perfect for taking their PlayStation® 5 gaming to the next level, with exclusive features such as Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode that generate optimized picture quality while gaming and streaming. There is also an easy-to-use and quick-access Game Menu for tailoring game settings like turning on or off VRR or Motion Blur Reduction and increasing the brightness in dark areas to easily spot objects and opponents with the Black Equalizer.
The new models’ XR Backlight Master Drive uses a Sony-developed local dimming algorithm to control thousands of tiny, ultra-dense Mini LEDs with absolute precision and independence, delivering extraordinary brightness, impressive dynamic range, deep blacks, and beautiful natural colours.
Sony is also keeping its commitment to decreasing plastic usage through its Road to Zero initiative, reducing overall plastic usage by approximately 60% and cutting emissions by approximately 15% by using smaller and lighter packaging during transportation. The new Eco Dashboard included on all 2023 models makes it easier for users to customize energy-saving preferences and settings.
Additionally, purchasing the 2023 BRAVIA XR TVs, even non-BRAVIA XR ones, comes complete with the BRAVIA CORE app, a pre-loaded movie service that comes with up to 10 movie credits to watch the latest releases and popular classics and additional movies with up to 12 months of unlimited streaming.
Delivering a Cinematic Surround Sound Experience with HT-S2000 3.1ch Dolby Atmos® Soundbar
On top of the BRAVIA XR lineup, Sony has unveiled its latest soundbar, the HT-S2000, which promises a cinematic surround sound experience with its 3.1ch Dolby Atmos® / DTS: X® technology.
The Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround technologies create virtual surround sound and position sound in vertical space. With a newly developed up mixer, the soundbar can deliver three-dimensional surround sound, even when playing stereo content. The HT-S2000 features a dedicated centre speaker for clear dialogue and a built-in dual subwoofer for punchy bass, which work together to deliver wide-ranging sound throughout the room.
Additionally, the soundbar is the first device compatible with Sony’s new Home Entertainment Connect app, which provides full control of volume, sound fields, and other settings through a smartphone. The HT-S2000 is also designed with sustainability in mind, featuring specially developed recycled plastic and packaging made from recycled paper-based materials. For even more immersive sound, consumers can add Sony’s optional wireless subwoofer or rear speakers, paired with a compatible BRAVIA XR TV™ for easy control.
The HT-S2000 is available at selected retail shops and online stores from May 2023, with retail prices to be announced at a later date.
