I’ve been gaming on the new Predator Helios 16 AI, and it’s one of the best all-around gaming laptops I’ve used in a while. As an avid gamer, I can now game anywhere. I drifted through city streets in Need for Speed, sweating through clutch rounds in CS2, and chilled with Midori No Kaori.
Check out a video I made while playing games on the Predator Helios 16 AI!
This 16-inch OLED display is stunning. The colours pop, blacks are properly deep, and the 240Hz refresh rate makes everything feel buttery smooth.
In Need for Speed, it was the lighting and reflections that really stood out. Night races just hit differently. And for Midori No Kaori, it brought out all the subtle details and warmth. This helped with the overall immersion.
Performance? No complaints.
The Helios 16 AI runs on an Intel Core Ultra 9 275hx and an RTX 5090 GPU. It’s an overkill combo, in a good way. CS2 was pushing 180+ fps easily. No screen tearing, no stutters, just clean, fast gameplay. Perfect for competitive mode. Performance is massively boosted with DLSS 4, with extra smoothness.
For Need for Speed, I cranked all the settings to max, and it just flew. Zero dips even when things got chaotic. This laptop also chewed through multitasking while I was streaming, recording, and playing with no lag at all.
Though most computers have AI these days, the Predator Helios 16 AI does it differently. The Purified Voice 2.0 is legit. My mic picked up my voice even with background noise. Teammates said I sounded “crispy,” which I’ll take as a win.
Thanks to the liquid metal thermal grease, 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, and vector heat pipes, the Helios stayed relatively cool even during extended play sessions. The fans get audible in Turbo mode, but it’s a fair trade-off for keeping frame drops at bay.
Fast, reliable Wi-Fi that keeps up
I’ve used enough gaming laptops to know how annoying bad Wi-Fi can be. But this one comes with Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro and Wi-Fi 7, and it makes a real difference.
It automatically prioritises game and voice traffic, and CS2 stayed lag-free. The connection was rock solid throughout my sessions.
PredatorSense 5.0
The PredatorSense 5.0 app is surprisingly useful. I used it to switch between Quiet, Balanced, Performance, and Turbo modes depending on what I was doing.
The RGB lighting controls are also fun to play with. I got my WASD keys to glow red for gaming and cooled them down with blue when I was watching anime.
You can tweak fan speeds, monitor temps, check system health, and even set up custom profiles.
DTS: :X Ultra Audio brings games to life
Audio is often overlooked, but DTS: :X Ultra makes a real impact.
The directional sound cues in CS2 felt more accurate, and in Midori No Kaori, the ambient soundtrack was so clean.
Little touches I liked
● The swappable MagKey 4.0 keys are cool. The mechanical WASD felt nice for CS2.
● PredatorSense 5.0 is straightforward. I used it to tweak the lighting and ramp up performance on demand.
● DTS: :X The ultra audio was clear and surprisingly immersive with my headset, great for hearing footsteps in shooters.
The Helios 16 AI feels built for gamers who want raw power without compromises. If you’re thinking of upgrading your rig for the next few years, this laptop’s worth a serious look. It’s powerful, slick, and honestly just a joy to use.
