About FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be a historic event, featuring 48 teams and hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It will be the first time three countries jointly host the tournament, marking the return of the World Cup to the U.S. since 1994 and Mexico’s third time hosting.

Canada, known for its success in hosting FIFA youth and women’s events, will be participating in the men’s senior World Cup for the first time.

In 2027, Brazil will host the FIFA Women’s World Cup—the first time the tournament will be held in South America. As a nation that has competed in every edition of the Women’s World Cup, Brazil will celebrate the tournament’s tenth edition with 32 teams, following the expanded format introduced in 2023 in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
