At first glance at my Instagram feed, people would think I am in a different country every single week and that I am always out of the office. While there is some truth there, I am always working on the go, even when I am travelling whether for business or leisure.
Recently, I went away on a weekend vacation to Desaru, Malaysia with a friend. While we spent half the time relaxing, the other half was spent on our laptops working in restaurants or by the pool.
For this trip, I brought the Lenovo T14 Gen 5 ThinkPad out with me and had a great experience working with it. Having witnessed the evolution of Lenovo’s laptop over the years and tried various models for work, here are my thoughts on why this laptop is the perfect travel companion.
Peak Performance at the Poolside
Even when in a relaxed state on a lounge chair by the infinity pool, I was able to work at my best with the Lenovo ThinkPad. This did not lead to a shorter battery lifespan, as this ThinkPad’s power consumption has been lowered by 16%, with the battery life improving by 20% as compared to the previous gen. I will get a sunburn even before this laptop runs out of juice.
The higher thermal design and rear fan are also helpful in keeping the device cool when I am using heavy-duty software like video editing tools, especially while working under the hot Malaysian sun.

This dedication makes me feel better about my choice of product on this trip especially when it joins me on my adventures out and about to appreciate nature while bird-watching at the resort or enjoying the ocean at the beach.

People like me have been asking for a more circular economy when it comes to tech products, and it is great to stand by a brand that enhances the device lifecycle so we can do multiple replacements, repairs, and upgrades before we get a new laptop.
