Apple announced the next evolution in its wireless audio lineup with the introduction of AirPods 4, featuring a brand-new design and advanced audio capabilities, including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for the first time in an open-ear model.
Additionally, AirPods Max now come in five vibrant new colours — midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange — and offer USB-C charging for added convenience.
Both AirPods 4 and the refreshed AirPods Max will be available for pre-order starting today, with availability in stores beginning Friday, September 20.
AirPods 4: A Revolutionary New Design
The AirPods 4 set a new standard for fit and comfort with an open-ear design that accommodates a wider range of users. Apple has used advanced modelling tools like 3D photogrammetry and laser topography to analyze over 50 million ear shapes, creating a shape that naturally fits even more users around the world.
With H2 chip technology, AirPods 4 bring a substantial leap in audio quality, featuring a new acoustic architecture, low-distortion driver, and high dynamic range amplifier. Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking delivers an immersive media experience, while features like Voice Isolation ensure clear calls in any environment. The H2 chip also introduces intelligent Siri interactions, allowing users to simply nod or shake their heads to respond to Siri announcements.
The redesigned force sensor on the stem gives users more control, with the ability to pause or play media, and mute or end calls with a simple press. USB-C charging is now standard, and the case is 10 per cent smaller in volume than its predecessor, delivering up to 30 hours of battery life.
Active Noise Cancellation in an Open-Ear Fit
For the first time, AirPods 4 offers Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in an open-ear design, thanks to upgraded microphones and computational audio powered by the H2 chip. Transparency mode, Adaptive Audio, and Conversation Awareness allow users to seamlessly control how much of their environment they hear, dynamically adjusting sound levels based on their surroundings.
With these features, users can reduce background noise like city traffic or aeroplane engines while still staying aware of their environment when needed.
AirPods Max: Five New Colours and USB-C Charging
The AirPods Max lineup has been updated with five beautiful new colours — midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange — to match Apple’s ecosystem of products.
These over-ear headphones now come with USB-C charging, making it easier to power up wherever you are.
The AirPods Max continues to offer premium sound quality, comfort, and features such as Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and a breathable knit mesh canopy to reduce on-head pressure.

AirPods 4 can be pre-ordered for S$199 from apple.com/store and the Apple Store app, with availability beginning September 20, and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are priced at S$249.
AirPods Max with USB-C charging are available for S$749.
