The Xiaomi 14 is a master of many across imaging, performance and display
During a recent trip to Japan, the Xiaomi 14, part of the latest flagship launch, was my companion throughout my trip. One of the standout features that was evident throughout the trip was the collaboration with Leica, which has revolutionised mobile imaging.
The Xiaomi 14 incorporated Leica Summilux optics, pushing the boundaries of mobile photography and capturing memories.
It’s professional-grade quad-camera setup that offers focal lengths ranging from 12mm to 120mm was a star in my photos. With the stepless variable aperture and an ultra-large 1-inch LYT-900 image sensor, I had exceptional image quality even in challenging lighting conditions.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 supports up to 8K 30fps shooting on all four cameras, allowing for stunning clarity and professional post-production edits. With the new Movie mode, I was able to capture scenic views of the streets or theme parks.
On the design front, the Xiaomi 14 impresses with its robust Xiaomi Guardian Structure, featuring a high-strength aluminium frame, nano-tech vegan leather, and Shield Glass. The device offers a remarkable 1.38x improved frame strength and 6x improved wear resistance, showcasing Xiaomi’s dedication to both aesthetics and durability.
The All Around Liquid Display with a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz and a peak brightness of 3000 nits delivers an immersive visual experience, complemented by the Xiaomi-custom C8 WQHD+ 6.73” AMOLED display.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 14 Series is powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which is especially noticeable when trying to navigate the roads while opening multiple tabs for food and sights. Videos and photos are a must-have on a trip and with long periods doing so, phones usually will heat up while draining battery quickly till it notifies you.
However, with Xiaomi 14’s advanced cooling technology and extended battery longevity, I didn’t experience any alerts of heat or quick battery loss. Overall, the Xiaomi 14 Series, with its innovative features and exceptional performance, proves to be a compelling choice for users seeking a premium smartphone experience
We say that the Xiaomi 14 will be a huge upgrade for users who are looking for leading-edge imaging capabilities, exceptional performance, and an immersive display.
