Samsung Electronics Singapore has introduced the expansion of its ViewFinity monitor range with the addition of the 27-inch ViewFinity S9, also known as the S90PC model. The freshly unveiled ViewFinity S9 is purposefully designed to meet the requirements of industries like graphic design and photography. Notably, it was recognized as a CES Innovation Award honoree in 2023.
The ViewFinity S9 introduces a 27-inch screen with a 5K resolution (5,120 x 2,880), which provides a workspace over 50% larger than standard UHD monitors. This results in exceptional clarity for both images and text. This model permits professionals to work with ultra-high-resolution content without the need for constant zooming, enabling them to view their projects in 5K while keeping their editing tools visible on-screen.
With features such as 99% DCI-P3 coverage and 218 PPI (pixels per inch), the ViewFinity S9 delivers more vibrant and rich colours with sharper details. This aspect is particularly advantageous for individuals who rely on precise visual quality. Additionally, a typical brightness level of 600 cd/m² ensures comfortable usage in various lighting conditions. Samsung’s calibration technology aids users in achieving the desired accurate colours. The monitor comes factory-calibrated for exceptional Delta E <21 accuracies right out of the box.
Notably, the ViewFinity S9 introduces the industry’s first Smart Calibration feature controlled via smartphones. This feature allows users to conveniently customize the screen settings of the ViewFinity S9 without requiring expensive and complex calibration equipment. By utilizing the SmartThings app, users can opt for basic mode for quick adjustments or professional mode for comprehensive control over colour temperature, luminance, colour space, and gamma settings. The calibration process is initiated by pointing a smartphone camera at the ViewFinity S9’s screen. Upon completion, a detailed report outlines the adjustments made and the achieved Delta E colour accuracy.
Enhancing visual performance, the ViewFinity S9 offers features tailored to streamline professionals’ tasks. It features versatile connectivity options for both Mac and Windows PCs, including Thunderbolt 4 and mini DisplayPort inputs alongside USB-C. The Thunderbolt 4 compatibility not only facilitates device charging up to 90W but also ensures data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
The monitor is equipped with a built-in 4K SlimFit camera that connects through a Pogo pin without requiring additional cables or equipment. The camera’s high resolution is optimal for video calls on platforms like Google Meet. The camera is adjustable to match the monitor’s angle, and Auto Framing keeps the user-visible even with movement.
The slim metal design of the ViewFinity S9 is space-efficient and ergonomic. It supports various adjustments to enhance comfort and productivity, including height adjustment to match eye level, tilting for different viewing angles, and even a Pivot mode for reading lengthy documents. VESA mount compatibility further allows users to save desk space and maintain a clutter-free workspace.
Embedded Smart TV apps offer users an immersive entertainment experience after work. These apps provide quick access to popular streaming services and shows, while built-in speakers with Adaptive Sound+ automatically adjust audio levels. The included remote control makes this monitor versatile for both work and leisure activities.
The ViewFinity S9 is now available for preorder from 14 to 27 August 2023 in Singapore, with general availability starting 28 August 2023 at S$2,288 (including GST).
In addition, consumers who preorder the ViewFinity S9 will receive a complimentary Portable SSD T7 Shield 4TB in Black (worth S$488).
