Presenting the Louis Erard x Watches of Switzerland x seconde/seconde/ Excellence Long-Awaited Email Grand Feu, this extraordinary collaboration showcases the timeless Louis Erard Excellence model as a canvas, featuring an enamel dial and fir-shaped hour and minute hands.
The subdial at 6 o’clock displays seconds and takes the form of an hourglass, symbolizing The Hour Glass, the parent company of Watches of Switzerland, and the ancient instrument used for timekeeping since the 8th century. The green indices, hands, and strap pay homage to the Jura mountains’ forests, the birthplace of Louis Erard.
At the bottom of the enamel dial, you’ll find the whimsical inscription “LONG-AWAITED EMAIL GRAND FEU SUISSE,” cleverly playing with the overlap between French and English. The word “email” refers to enamel in French and also alludes to modern internet communication in English. The beige enamel dial is meticulously crafted by Donzé Cadrans in Le Locle, a renowned enamelling specialist with over 50 years of expertise.
Each dial is painstakingly created by hand, with artisans applying vitreous powder to metal dial bases and then firing them at high temperatures in a dedicated kiln. This meticulous process is repeated multiple times to achieve the desired colour and texture.
Limited to 99 pieces, the Excellence Long-Awaited Email Grand Feu retails for S$6,400 (with GST).
