The FiiO R7 is a unique digital audio player that combines multiple features, including offline and online music player, preamplifier, headphone amplifier, transmitter, and decoder, into one device. It features a wide variety of input and output options, numerous connection and expansion capabilities, and a portrait screen with an intuitive user interface for an easy-to-use and high-quality desktop HiFi experience.
The R7 has 64 GB internal storage and microSD storage of up to 2 TB for music file storage. It also features USB host functionality for external storage drives and NAS devices, optical and coaxial inputs, and supports wireless connectivity via 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, with the reception of SBC/AAC/LDAC.
The R7 is Roon Ready certified, allowing users to access music from a ROON CORE source such as a NAS device or a computer. It also runs on Android 10 for access to major streaming services, including TIDAL, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud.
The R7 is designed to work with a wide range of output devices, ranging from wired headphones, wireless headphones, and active speakers to personal computers. It can be connected to headphones through either the XLR and 4.4mm balanced outputs or the 6.3mm single-ended output. It has five gain levels: low, medium, high, over-ear headphone, and enhanced over-ear headphone mode. The R7 is capable of outputting up to 3W under a 32Ω load using enhanced over-ear headphone mode, making it suitable for low- and high-impedance headphones.
Besides, the R7 can be connected to speakers via the XLR, RCA single-ended, USB, coaxial or optical ports and enjoy truly immersive three-dimensional sound in a grand soundstage. In addition, the R7 can output audio via Bluetooth using different standards including AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, and LHDC.
The R7 is high-performance with power stabilisation and filtering within the audio circuit that employs ultra-low-noise LDOs for voltage regulation, ensuring that R7 is continuously fed with stable, clean power.
The R7 features a 30W switching power supply. The AC and DC circuits contribute to the robustness of the power supply system, to better give that dynamic sound to your music. The R7 can also be used with external DC power supplies such as the FiiO PL50 linear power supply, delivering a clean and pure sound and accentuating the musical details.
