The OPPO A17, the latest addition to the A series family of smartphones, was unveiled last week in Singapore. With a 50MP camera and a 5000mAh long-lasting battery life, the OPPO A17 provides an all-around day-to-day smartphone experience.
Stunning design with Premium Leather-feel and Ultra-Slim Body
The A17 adopts OPPO’s Ultra-Slim Retro Design, which has a centre frame with a flat edge and smooth edges to give the device a sleek, fashionable, and high-end appearance. With a weight of around 189 g and a thickness of about 8.29 mm, the A17 is easy to grip and operate in any scenario.
Each of the two colour finishes, Lake Blue and Midnight Black, gives the OPPO A17 a unique and quality look. The rear cover is manufactured with composite processing technology, giving the phone the appearance and feel of genuine leather. The interior texture is embossed with a light leather grain. At the same time, the outside layer is protected by a UV coating, making the phone not only comfortable to handle but also dust resistant and long-lasting.

The OPPO A17 series comes with a huge 5,000mAh battery that can last for 20 hours of phone calls or 20 hours of typical YouTube video viewing time on a full charge. For individuals who use their phone for extended periods but have no means to charge it during the day, the A17 series’ Super Power Saving Mode will kick in to help maximize every last bit of juice when the battery level drops below 10%, alleviating user concerns about battery life.
Furthermore, the A17 series has Super Nighttime Standby, which uses AI to understand users’ sleep habits and cut power usage, regulating battery use to within 2-3% of overall capacity in a single night.
All-round performance with RAM Expansion technology and reliable quality
The OPPO A17 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 Mobile Platform and has a CPU speed of up to 2.3 GHz. The phone’s RAM capacity can be increased via OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology by borrowing up to 4GB of unused ROM, letting the device run several memory-heavy apps with minimal latency.
The OPPO A17 is made to last. Each A17 phone is subjected to more than 130 ultra-rigorous reliability tests and 320 extensive quality tests to ensure that it is resistant to splashes, high temperatures, high humidity, micro-drops, scratches, and other typical wear and tear.
Improved security and efficiency with ColorOS 12.1
With OPPO’s ColorOS 12.1, the OPPO A17 is designed for ease and efficiency. Three-Finger Translate with Google Lens can translate text in a screenshot into over 100 languages. FlexDrop allows users to keep an additional program open in a tiny floating window when switching between apps, allowing for more effective multitasking. ColorOS 12.1 also contains other security features such as Five-Grade Access Control and Photo Information Protection to help protect sensitive data.
Market Availability
The OPPO A17 will be available in Singapore on Lake Blue and Midnight Black from Monday, 3 October 2022. The 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model will be priced at $229. It will be available on OPPO’s Lazada, Qoo10, Shopee and TikTok flagship stores, authorised retailers, and partner consumer electronic stores.
