It’s been a year since the PlayStation VR headset was first launched, and now it’s getting an updated design for its one year anniversary. Last week, the PlayStation VR FAQ on the PlayStation blog was updated, with a section just for the upcoming model. The new version, titled model CUH-ZVR2, features multiple updates to its design.

More Convenient, More Streamlined

The headphone jack is located at the back in the new model, and the cable itself is slimmer and less bulky. In addition to that, Sony is also introducing an updated Processor Unit that now supports HDR pass through. With this, users no longer need to disconnect their consoles from the Processor Unit and plug it back into their TV to view HDR content.

However, current owners of a PlayStation VR headset will not be able to swap out their old Processor Units with the updated one, as the cables are different.

On the other hand, all PlayStation VR games are still compatible with both PlayStation VR headsets, so you don’t have to worry about that.

Release Dates and Pricing
