Nikon Introduces Z6III: Redefining Full-Frame Mid-Range Cameras with Exceptional Performance

Nikon launched the Z6III, a high-performance camera that inherits the signature features of the Z9 and Z8 models. Designed to meet the needs of content creators, photographers, and enthusiasts, the Z6III offers unparalleled specs and functionality in the full-frame mid-range class.

The Z6III is equipped with the world’s first partially-stacked CMOS sensor, offering 3.5x faster readouts than the Z6II. This sensor enables high-speed continuous shooting, with Pre-Release Capture at up to 120 fps in DX format and 60 fps in FX format with 24 MP.

High Performance and Functionality Inherited from Top-Tier Models
The Z6III features a bright, high-resolution EVF with 4000 cd/m² brightness, 5760k dots, and a wide colour gamut.

This allows for smooth EVF views and precise subject tracking, thanks to the fast data readout from the partially-stacked CMOS sensor and Nikon’s EXPEED 7 processor. The camera supports Full HD/240p for up to 10x slow-motion video creation and 10-bit H.265 recording for flexible speed and colour grading.

Inheriting the performance and functionality of the Nikon Z9 and Z8, the Z6III offers extensive customization options, including different AF-area mode assignments. The AF detection range extends to -10 EV, making it suitable for low-light photography.

The Z6III’s autofocus system detects nine types of subjects, provides brilliant AF performance in backlit scenes, and improves face detection and shooting speed by approximately 20 per cent compared to the Z6II.

The new MB-N14 Power Battery Pack enhances the Z6III’s power capacity, ensuring it remains a reliable workhorse for various shooting conditions.

Climate-Resistant and Better Heat Dissipation
The Z6III is designed for extreme weather conditions, constructed from Sereebo® P series carbon fibre, magnesium alloy, and effective sealing.

It operates efficiently in temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. Enhanced heat dissipation and power efficiency allow up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD/60p (8-bit) recording, making it ideal for weddings and live concerts. The Z6III also supports 12-bit ProRes RAW HQ and N-RAW formats, covering resolutions up to 6K.

Expansion of Imaging Possibilities Through New Functions
The Z6III offers Flexible Color Picture Control, compatible with Nikon’s NX Studio software, enabling greater freedom of expression through intuitive adjustment of light and colours. Users can export customized settings to the Z6III and register them as Custom Picture Controls for real-time preview.

Nikon Imaging Cloud, Nikon’s new cloud service, supports Imaging Recipes, allowing users to download and apply Picture Controls created from these recipes. The service facilitates automatic image uploads and firmware updates, ensuring the camera is always up-to-date without the need for a computer or smart device.

The Z6III captures stunning low-light scenes up to ISO 64000 for photos and ISO 51200 for video. With the EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, it surpasses the Z6II in noise reduction while preserving intricate textures. The Z6III achieves one of the highest in-camera Vibration Reduction (VR) in the Nikon Z series, with an 8.0-stop advantage. Focus point VR reduces blurring in focused areas, expanding handheld shooting opportunities in low-light situations.
