Swiss watchmaker ZENITH has unveiled the CHRONOMASTER Sport Meteorite, a striking new interpretation of its award-winning high-frequency chronograph that combines cutting-edge precision with material forged in the depths of space. Featuring a dial crafted from genuine meteorite, the latest addition to the CHRONOMASTER collection transforms one of the brand’s most celebrated timepieces into a wearable piece of the universe.

The new model builds upon the success of the CHRONOMASTER Sport, which won the Chronograph Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and has become a benchmark for contemporary sports chronographs thanks to its ability to measure time accurately to one-tenth of a second. With the Meteorite edition, ZENITH adds an extra dimension of exclusivity and storytelling, pairing technical excellence with a dial that began its journey millions of years ago beyond Earth.
Each meteorite dial is inherently unique. Formed from extraterrestrial iron and shaped over countless millennia, the material reveals intricate Widmanstätten patterns when carefully hand-finished. These naturally occurring geometric structures are created during the extremely slow cooling process of molten metal in space, ensuring that no two dials are ever identical.
The result is a captivating surface that gives every watch its own distinct cosmic fingerprint.

Against this celestial backdrop, ZENITH’s iconic tri-colour chronograph counters in silver, light grey and anthracite provide a familiar visual signature. Each dial is finished with a circular azuré pattern, while rhodium-plated hands and applied baton hour markers coated with Super-LumiNova ensure excellent legibility in all lighting conditions. A discreet date window positioned at 4:30 maintains the balanced aesthetic of the dial.
The watch is housed in a 41mm stainless steel case that remains faithful to the design language of the legendary A386, the pioneering El Primero chronograph introduced in 1969. Combining polished and satin-brushed surfaces, the case strikes a balance between sporty functionality and refined elegance. A black ceramic bezel featuring a tenth-of-a-second scale complements the watch’s precision-focused character while enhancing durability and scratch resistance. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres, making it suitable for everyday wear.

Powering the CHRONOMASTER Sport Meteorite is the latest generation El Primero 3600 movement, one of the most advanced high-frequency chronograph calibres in modern watchmaking. Beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, or 5Hz, the movement allows the central chronograph hand to complete a full revolution every 10 seconds, enabling precise measurement of elapsed time down to one-tenth of a second. The calibre also offers a 60-hour power reserve, a stop-seconds mechanism for accurate time setting, and a silicon escape wheel designed to enhance performance and reliability.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement showcases ZENITH’s watchmaking expertise with a blue column wheel, horizontal clutch architecture and an openworked oscillating weight adorned with the brand’s signature star motif. The display offers enthusiasts a clear view of the mechanics behind one of the industry’s most respected chronograph movements.
The CHRONOMASTER Sport Meteorite is delivered on an integrated stainless steel bracelet featuring a folding clasp and is accompanied by an additional black rubber strap for a more contemporary and sporty look. Originally offered as a Japan-exclusive release, the model is now available worldwide through ZENITH boutiques, authorised retailers and the brand’s online channels.
Priced at SGD 25,400, the CHRONOMASTER Sport Meteorite offers collectors an opportunity to own a chronograph that combines one of watchmaking’s most celebrated movements with a dial formed beyond our planet.
